Friendly Village Firearms- Training & Trading

Friendly Village Firearms- Training & Trading What we are nowadays: FVF does not have any inventory and is only doing transfers. Normally transfers are done at our dining room table. FVF's goal? Fri-Sat-Sun).

Friendly Village Fi****ms (FVF) offers only fi****ms transfer services to felony free and drug free responsible Americans of legal age in the Lakes Region of Maine. First, what we used to be: Friendly Village Fi****ms (FVF) was first and foremost an education service providing USCCA-based courses in fi****ms, primarily handguns. Maine’s 2015!Constitutional Carry law pretty much put an end to most

people being interested in paying for training, since a permit to carry is no longer required in Maine. What we are not: FVF has never been a "gun shop" in the traditional sense nor a gunsmith. Until the pandemic subsides, business has been relegated to our driveways. BTW, FVF is not a pawn shop. However, we are federally licensed. We used to conduct online buying of fi****ms, but no longer. Nevertheless, FVF is registered as a transfer agent with several major distributors, e.g. Cabelas, Brownells, Davidson's, Lipsey's, and Zanders to mention only a few. At this point, survive 2020! FVF had hoped to "graduate" to a store front operation with a classroom and possibly a range, but no longer is that on the horizon. At $30 per firearm, FVF believes its transfer fee is competitively priced. Open hours are 8:00 AM - Noon and 1:00-5:00 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays; Saturday by appointment. Not open Sundays nor holiday weekends (i.e.

Things are gradually looking up. More ammo being manufactured by known brands.
As some know, Friendly Village Fi****ms (aka FVF) almost closed its door due to the effect of COVID-19 on all businesses including fi****ms AND especially due to the effect of new 5-8 million new “enthusiasts” buying ammo left and right, on top of the usual demand by “regulars”.
Maine no longer requiring a Conceal Handgun Permit CHP) killed most of the training business in Maine. Last year FVF became uncertified by USCCA because FVF didn’t have a required number of students attending classes. This was a very disappointing move by USCCA, but FVF still recommends its training and membership, especially its insurance plans.
For the moment, FVF is only doing transfers. ($30.00/firearm) That’s the only action here. One fellow transferred 12 on one day, 4 the next week and two more the next week!!! 😁
Am contemplating again conducting once a month basic fi****ms training for anyone ages 18 and up, but only during June thru August. Training available MAY be a Non-permit Basic Handgun class and possibly a Basic Non-permit Handgun Concealed Carry class.
There has been some renewed interest of late. However, no more 8-hour classes. Classroom maximums would be 4 hours & 2 students. One, perhaps two, classes a month. Every other Saturday 8:00-12:00 AM, depending on interest. Curriculum would be a reduced format from the previous 8 hour USCCA basic, permit course. Instructor time 20.00/hour. The shooting portion, figuring a class of 2 students during one hour minimum, 30 minutes attention per student, 20 rounds per student, would take place after lunch at 1:00 PM at the Western Maine Fish & Game outdoor range. Cost per student: $10.00 per 30 minutes of shooting instruction, if student provides a safe firearm and ammo OR $20.00 per student per 30 minutes of shooting instruction. if FVF provides same (FVF provides .38 caliber revolver and 9mm semi-auto pistol).
If you or someone you know is interested, contact FVF via the web site (FriendlyVillageFi****ms.com) “Contact Us” page. Or email Brian@.
Also, Ladies ONLY, do the same, if interested in (a two hour two student class, Monday evening or Thursday evening 7:00-9:00 PM) Women’s Basic Fi****ms Self Defense class. FVF may set up the second two hour basic concealed carry evening to supplement the first basic evening, for a total of four hours training. Cost, both class and shooting, would be the same as described in the preceding paragraph. Instruction would be similar to the “regular” basic courses, but specifically geared toward only women, ages 18 and up.
Ages 12-17 may also attend. However, the child must be supervised by an adult parent or guardian who will be expected to supervise, not participate in the training, per se. In other words, he/she would not also be a student. Sorry.
Be sure to mention when contacting FVF about your interest in attending a class whether student special circumstances must be taken into account. Please ask questions about attendance before attending class; not just before class. Thanks.

Well, it's come to this. Can't get inventory, so... shutting down the biz except for established customers. Overhead is killing me. Kitchen table FFLs like me have to hunker down. I will only be doing transfers, is all. No back orders. Too frustrating.
Five million new buyers of fi****ms have created next thing to a vacuum.... a black hole. Little or no ammo is available as well as few of the popular fi****ms.
Federal and Hornady CEOs say that they're making ammo faster than ever. It's the new fi****ms owners and most everyone is stocking up. The aforementioned say there is plenty of hunting ammo available. I would agree with that, except, I don't have any!

I wish you all a safe as well as a Merry Christmas! I'll throw in a Happy New Year, too. Let's pray that it is that. It's gong to take a long time to get steam up in the old engine. However, in spite of circumstances, We, the US, will rise from these ashes. 🙂

Here is the latest ATF BOSTON FIELD DIVISION Weekly News Digest. Some, if not a lot, of the activity has to (and is) related to the state of unrest in the country. I, for one, feel more comfortable knowing the good guys are staying on top of this situation. Not an easy task, I imagine, and one the good guys get little credit for performing.
A side note: I received a site related question "the other day" asking where Friendly Village Fi****ms (FVF) is located.
Unless my old eyes are playing tricks on me, I think, the site profile picture says: Harrison, ME. If one wishes to know exactly where FVF is located, visit the FVF online website and look for the word "Directions" on the Home Page.
Sarcasm temporarily aside, FVF activity March through May has been mostly transfers, an uptick observed across the country.
Another side note: a faithful member of our local Fish & Game Club (located in Harrison, ME) gave me a heads up "just the other day" about gun control legislation recently introduced in the U.S. House of you-know-what-they-call-themselves. I've since lost the HR #, a four number bill beginning, I think, with a 5, and I will have to retrieve it, but a summary of it is, first, it's off-the-wall and, if eventually passed into law, it would put a lot of fi****ms dealers out of business, except for you-know-who...probably the big boxes and make future purchasing and ownership an onerous (read that as: expensive) pursuit by The Common Man.
The crux of the $Bill$ is: It would put a h-u-g-e tax on the sale of a new firearm and a h-u-g-e tax on the sale of ammunition. Did I say: h-u-g-e? And that's not all. One has to read it to absorb the entirety of it. Recommend sitting down when doing so and ensuring your seat belt is fastened.
Talk about restricting the 2nd amendment?! I'll see if I can find the HR #. Those of you more astute than I at pounding your PC keyboards will probably find it right away.
Now, if the Senate remains in Republican control, I believe this bill has a snow flake's chance in hell of passing the Senate. If the Senate changes hands, its anyone's guess what truly wacko federal bushwhacking of the 2nd in addition to this monster is going to come down the 'pike.
Have a good day anyway! (-:

Me thinks the anti-gun crowd has to rethink their priorities. It appears they have a bit more to worry about these days than "gun nuts"! Time for the gun-free zone decals to come off the storefront doors. Surely more folks than just me must see the irony in all of these shenanigans. Anyone wonder how many NRA members have been involved in the riots? More than likely ZIP! Anyone wonder NOW why law abiding citizens want to have a firearm for their home and self-defense????? More than likely gazllions - NOW! Some call this a revolution. Pshaw-pshaw. The law abiding citizens who own at least one firearm haven't even fired a shot - yet, but when they do, it definitely would be heard around the world THIS time. )-: Maybe NOW people will wake up to what the real threat to society is, whether in the US or anywhere else. How about placing the emphasis on the really "bad nuts" out there - the criminals and gang members and sickos whose sum of values apparently equals ZIP. Just sayin'

Okay, it's serious stuff time here. In addition to getting appropriate fi****ms insurance that I rave about you should have if you carry outside your home AND even inside your home, training in groups, even small ones ism pretty much out of the question right how, which is why I made mention on my website that, as much as I would rather, I'm not having classes any more. Oddly, as much as carrying entails a risk in itself, so does being among a lot of people these days. I'm 81 and I'd like to live to see my grand daughter get married!

That being said, I believe in training and I believe in in-person training, if one is going to pick up a firearm to defend themselves and possibly others, and, if one is going to rely not only on the fi****ms but also him-or- her-self to be able to survive the possibility of a self-defense event.

However, to that end and at the expense of not endearing myself to other instructors in the area who want students in their classroom, I recommend that "wannabee" carry people check out the features of the following website. The cost is reasonable and it boasts a 100% guarantee. Even I didn't do that!

I'm even considering taking the offered course. Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks?

However #2... don't to get to get that all important special fi****ms insurance. You haven't begun to realize how important ensuring you have "backup" and paying a couple hundred dollars to do that is until you realize that humans err, we all make mistakes and that nobody is perfect and you find yourself faced with being in court and needing not-just-any-lawyer to save your f***y and to, hopefully, keep you from losing everything you own.

Well, if one waits a time with patience, surely all good things will come to pass.... perhaps. Let's hope and pray that's the case.

To my friends, be safe and help your neighbors..... at a distance. There are ways of doing that. Getting in touch is a good first step. For many reasons, staying in touch is a good idea, too.

Now, for the sad part of all this, at least from my perspective at the moment. Sadly, I've decided (again) to discontinue my fi****ms training effort. It just doesn't make a lot of sense for us to conduct training in our home any longer under the present circumstances...... and probably for the unforeseen future.

We will continue to shore up the Second Amendment as best we can. Y'all do your part, too.

New gimmick time from THIS old sailor! How ‘bout free shipping on line firearm purchases? One way I might still compete - some. Will probably cut my $$$ to &, but still keep me in the mix. Besides, I’m not doing this for the $$$ or even $, but to ensure men protect themselves so they can protect their women and children and women their men and children! Besides, (again), if I really wanted to sit on my butt and easily make money, I could be a politician and be paid by many, many “consumers” of my brand of BS (my initials, after all !)😂

Web site transiton to new Host went smoothily. Have work to do though. Some pictures missing; paragraphing needed; themes applied... Pretty crude right now, but it'll look better shortly (couple of years?)! (-: Mobile site will be down a while longer. It requires even more work....
Somewhat disappointed in USCCA as I've been told off-handedly that I've been decertified except for the Women's Defense Course. This because I've not had enough students to suit the criteria (which I was not aware of). Apparently, USCCA HQ is not aware that 16 states including Maine have "Constitutional Carry" now which has essentially told people in those states they don't need a permit or the associated training.
Expecting this was not unanticipated. People figure why spend $$$ for a permit they don't need when those $$$ can go towards a firearm, ammo, a holster, (beer), whatever....
Out of gross disrespect for this news, I'm planning on having classes as mentioned earlier - anyway! Must be the rebel in me! Whether or not the State Police will honor MY certificate of completed training remains to be seen. I mean ( hell ! ) nothing really has changed -
well... 81 and going strong... or just going... and another year older!
Meantime, "leap" ahead one hour Sunday and bear with me while this old sailor fine tunes the web site, attempts to get the mobile site up and I do my taxes!! (-:
