SAWMILL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
This is a full-time on-site role as a Sawmill Maintenance Technician located in Harrison, MI. As a Sawmill Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on sawmill equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the sawmill. You will collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventative maintenance plans, maintain inventory of spare parts, and assist in equipment installation and upgrades.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of sawmill equipment and systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects
• Certification in maintenance or relevant field is a plus

Job Description:
Experienced Head Sawyer qualified candidate must have experience sawing, circular saw and vertical edger saw experience most preferred. Knowledge of NHLA grading rules a plus. Candidate needs to be mechanically inclined this position will require, minor mill maintenance, diagnosing saw problems, and maintaining production quality control. Looking for someone who is motivated, responsible and ready to work. On the job training may be an option to the right candidate. Must have a drivers license, and pass all drug screening tests.

NOW HIRING!!!! EXPERIENCED DEBARKER/LOADER OPERATOR or Trainee for the right individual. Knowledge of different tree species is required. This position consists of feeding logs into the debarker and taking lumber out the mill and loading lumber trucks with finished goods. Also moving dust and bark away from conveyers . Some mechanical ability and equipment care is a must. Scheduled work time is Mon-Thurs 6am -4:30pm. This position is being offered to replace a long-term employee with a tenure of over 25 years that is retiring in December.
