June is the perfect time to pause and ask:

πŸ‘©β€πŸ’» Are your numbers telling the story you expected?
πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ Are your customers buying what you thought they would?
πŸ₯· Are your systems helping you grow - or holding you back?

An advisor can help you review what is working, what needs attention, and what to focus on next.

Running a business means juggling more than you think.

Decisions. Finances. Customers. Growth.

Business owners are constantly balancing competing priorities, and it’s not always easy.

The more clarity you have, the easier it becomes to stay focused and make confident decisions.

You don’t have to juggle it all alone!

❌ COMMON MISTAKE: Trying to grow without a plan

Growth is exciting, but without a clear plan, it can create more pressure than progress.

Hiring, expanding, or increasing capacity all come with financial and operational impacts.

The strongest growth decisions are intentional - not reactive.

Clarity helps you grow in a way your business can actually support.

What does support for small businesses actually look like with the SBDC?

πŸ’¬ It looks like conversations about tough decisions.
πŸ“ˆ It looks like working through numbers and next steps.
πŸ’‘ It looks like helping business owners move from uncertainty to clarity.

Behind the scenes, that’s the work happening every day.

Because building a business doesn’t happen in isolation.

Strong businesses aren’t built overnight, but they are built on a few key things.

While every business is different, the ones that last tend to have a few things in common:
βœ… A clear understanding of their numbers
βœ… The ability to adapt when things change
βœ… A willingness to ask questions and seek guidance

Growth doesn’t come from guessing; it comes from learning and adjusting over time.

The more clarity you have, the stronger your decisions become.

Economic Development Week (May 3-8) is a time to recognize the work happening across Virginia to build strong and more resilient communities.

At its core, economic development is about:

- Creating an inclusive economy and expanding opportunity for all Virginians
- Investing in the prosperity and sustainability of our communities
- Building competitive regions that support business growth and attract new investment
- Creating high-quality jobs that strengthen local economies
- Generating revenue that supports our local community

This doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s the result of partnerships, strategy, and a shared commitment to long-term success. Small business is a HUGE part of this.

We’re proud to be part of that effort, supporting the businesses that help drive it forward.
