We are thrilled to welcome Stephen Edwards, PE, PTOE, PTP, RSP1, as a Senior Transportation Engineer to IMEG's growing team! Based in our Hartford office, Stephen brings over 20 years of exceptional expertise in transportation planning, design, and civil infrastructure development. His extensive background in Complete Streets, transit projects, transportation safety, multimodal policy, and smart city infrastructure aligns with our team’s commitment to creating innovative, sustainable transportation solutions.

Stephen's experience includes leading complex infrastructure projects, coordinating multi-agency collaborations, and mentoring future engineering leaders as an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis. Actively involved with organizations such as the Institute of Transportation Engineers, American Planning Association, and Urban Land Institute, he has consistently contributed to advancing industry best practices.

Through his award-winning project "Rooted in Time," Brendan masterfully reimagined a historic East Lyme property, weaving together centuries of heritage with contemporary design. His work was recognized for its thoughtful graphic storytelling, thorough site analysis, and clear project vision.

As an intern at FHI Studio, now IMEG, Brendan brings this same dedication and creativity to his work every day. His approach to landscape architecture exemplifies the fresh perspective we value in the next generation of designers.

We are honored to share that the Norwich Parks Master Plan has received a 2025 Merit Award from the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects!

Developed in partnership with The City of Norwich, CT, this plan provides a roadmap for the future of parks, recreation, and open space, with a strong emphasis on accessibility, sustainability, and equity. Above all, we are most proud of the plan’s inclusive engagement process and commitment to addressing social and economic disparities in public spaces, and we are committed to ensuring that Norwich’s parks continue to serve as welcoming, vibrant, and resilient spaces for all.

The East Side Coastal Resiliency Project continues to make strides in protecting Manhattan’s coastline and enhancing community spaces. We’re excited to share the latest milestones: The first section of the project has been completed ahead of schedule and under budget, featuring protective measures for the city’s coastline, along with upgrades to parks and playgrounds that create safer, more enjoyable spaces for residents to play, gather, and relax. The project was also honored with the prestigious “Heroes of the Harbor” award from the Waterfront Alliance.

FHI Studio is proud to support this transformative initiative by contributing to community engagement efforts, including stakeholder meetings, open houses, and public events, ensuring the project aligns with the needs and priorities of the community. We are grateful to AKRF, Inc. for the opportunity to collaborate on this impactful project.

At the start of each year, we are proud to participate in The University of Virginia School of Architecture “Externship” Program. This week, we were pleased to welcome Aidan Reese, a first-year student in Urban and Environmental Planning, to our team for this immersive experience.

Aidan brings a strong interest in sustainability, transportation planning, and GIS, along with valuable experience in community engagement and environmental advocacy. Throughout the week, Aidan gained exposure to our work through project meetings, professional development opportunities, and firsthand experience in a collaborative planning environment.

We are proud to celebrate Carla Tillery, who was recently honored with the Transportation Achievement Award by the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Connecticut Section. This award highlights Carla’s exceptional contributions to ITE and the industry's commitment to advancing safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation solutions.
