What is a Virtual Assistant? That is always the first question I get, and how can I blame anyone when I myself just learned what they are in the thick of COVID?
According to Small Business Trends (August 2021): "A virtual assistant is an independent worker who assists with administrative, business development, social media, marketing or other tasks. By taking on recurring tasks and administrative work, they free up time for small business owners, entrepreneurs and managers" https://smallbiztrends.com/2019/09/what-is-a-virtual-assistant.html
But in my own words, it is an independent contractor who works with individuals and business owners to help run the administrative side of their business remotely.
Now the second question I get is Why would this benefit me? Well easy, you will have someone to handle anything and everything administratively at any time of the day (even off normal business hours) and you only have to pay them a flat hourly rate (no benefits at all!), and its a legal binding contract that either party can end if things are no longer working out or if it is no longer in the budget (no unemployment or unfair termination lawsuits here)!
