🌟The 2027 plugs have arrived 🌟October is like Christmas all month long for a flower farmer. We start planning for this all the way back in the spring. For us, this is the season with the largest input cost. We plant close to 5,000 plugs, 5,000 tulips, 3,000 ranunculus/anemones, and many more!

To our florists/wholesale customers, market customers, and farm visitors, this year you all have proved to us the value of local flowers and the appreciation you have for them. We’ve nearly sold out every week and our waste is less than 10%! We heard you y’all and were growing more. 🙂

Dahlias are at peak harvest and they won’t be around for much longer. So we’re running a ‼️ SALE‼️ help us clear our cooler this weekend!

If you’re looking for dahlias at the farm, we’ve got them! Roadside will be stocked from 9 am-dusk with dahlia bunches, pumpkins 🎃 gourds, greens 🥬, peppers 🌶️ ornamental corn 🌽 and more!

🌟Cheers to the weekend! 🌟

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting cooler and we only have about 2ish weeks left of dahlias until they are getting chopped down and put to bed!

As we transition into fall ourselves, so do the flowers. There season must come to an end and we are actually excited to celebrate! 🙌🏽
We’ve had flowers blooming since March 🫠and we’re ready for our break.

However, we patiently waiting for our cut flower MUMS to bloom, with hopes of harvesting them for Thanksgiving flowers 💐🦃

We will be at the Anne Arundel County Farmers' Market, Inc. tomorrow, Saturday October 10th from 7-12 noon.

‼️ Dahlias are at peak bloom so we’re running a sale ALL weekend ‼️

🍁 FALL is finally here 🍁

Everyone September, our family enjoys our annual pumpkin picking. We load up the hay trailers with assorted pumpkins. We’ve got lots of varieties this year including ginormous ones for your porch, little ones for the kids, and some funky speciality ones.

🎃 Roadside Stand will be stocked all weekend from 9 am-dusk. We also have fresh greens 🥬 ornamental corn, limited straw bales, and autumn squash for cooking.

💐 Flower bunches will be restock Saturday and Sunday from 9 am-dusk as well!

🌼🌸PEAK DAHLIA season is underway🌼🌸

Did you know that dahlias only bloom in Maryland between August-late October? They are a gem of a flower. Thousands (literally) of colors and shapes, make this flower a coveted variety for design work.

We grow our dahlia varieties based on several factors: Wholesale Vs. retail palette trends, Productivity, bloom size & structure, and their ability to make great tubers.

We wholesale a ton of dahlias weekly BUT we are finally at 🌟peak harvest🌟 and will have dahlias available more consistently for you at our Roadside Stand and at the Anne Arundel County Farmers Market on Saturdays. (Be sure to watch our Facebook or instagram stories daily for details)

Sadly, dahlias don’t have the best vase life. Despite this, they are still very very popular.

I think the reason dahlias are SO popular is because they can’t be readily found or imported from other countries. If you see them at the grocery store, that’s a rare sight and you’re lucky to get them home without crashing 😞. With their short season, short vase life, the best way to fully consume yourself in their beauty is to BUY LOCAL!!

To maximize vase life, we pre hydrate our dahlias in hydration solution and flower food. Once you get yours home, place them in clean fresh water in a clean vase. Make sure all the leaves are stripped and not hanging out in the water. You want to keep the stem clean and clear so it can constantly hydrate itself.
