Today, at the we have finally finished repairing this gorgeous gal. She is an antique Kestner china head.

She came in badly damaged from a fire. Her original silk gown was in tatters, shredding and the whole right side of her face and shoulder plate were badly damaged. Her original arms were also rotting away and needed replacing.

After a lot of very hard work she is beautiful once again! She has been repainted to mask the damage on her face and shoulder plate. Her gown has been remade. We used a lovely black silk taffeta, double layered and lined. The ruffles were an awesome vintage find, perfect for the skirt. The ruching on the bodice and sleeves was done by hand. We were able to save the original antique buttons, hook/eyes closures, as well as the bow and use them on her new gown.

This has truly been a labor of love and we are so proud of the results. We hope her owner with love the results as much as we do!
