Kids are with Gigi, the office in town was too hot, so it's a patio work day! 🌳🐾 The dogs are just as happy about it as I am.

This week we helped a client launch a new online intake system for student athletes — cutting out hours of paperwork, manual checking, and cash/check handling. Every new system has its hiccups, but we're really happy with how this launch went, and learned a lot for future ones.

Closing out the week drafting brand voices for client websites and social media (so their content sounds like them, not us), polishing up older sites, and fine-tuning phone system features for clients who don't have a full-time receptionist and spend their days out in the field.

This is exactly why I do this — helping other business owners run smoother, show up online, and make their lives a little easier. 💛

Friday afternoons are for handyman work to get the new office settled 😎 (and yes, my boys have appointed themselves official assistants for the job).

Outside of that, it's been a productive week! LouAnne and I helped two clients with website rebrands — reveals coming next week — mapped out our goals for the rest of the year, and put together social media content for clients to help build their brand authority.

So what is brand authority, and why does it matter? In short, it's the trust and credibility your brand builds online through consistent, helpful content, reviews, and engagement. It's a bigger deal than ever because Google and AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude use those same signals to decide who to recommend when people ask questions in your industry.

📋✨ First official dry erase board meeting = we’re basically a Fortune 500 company now 😂

LouAnne and I sat down (well, actually we stood up and paced a bit around our new big office — too excited to sit still!) to map out our goals for the rest of 2026 — rooted in Colossians 3:23 (work as if we’re working for the Lord), with a clear focus on increasing efficiency to serve our community and clients better, without ever cutting corners on customer service.

Small team. Big goals. Grateful for every client who trusts us with their business. 🙌

Growing up, fair was a big deal in our house. My sister Dani and I showed animals every year we could. What a blessing to watch my niece (Dani’s daughter) show now with that same love for it that her mom has!

And what a blessing to be able to be a sponsor for her show at the Barry County Fair this year. Praying God allows Thornapple Tech to be a bigger part of this community in the years ahead, as He allows us to grow. ❤️

Weeks of internet drama at home AND the new office 😅 Today the desk-on-wheels wins — enjoyed this view for the afternoon. Finally back up to real speed, which means diving into the stuff that needed it: new website builds, custom business email setups through Google Workspace, automations to take repetitive tasks off clients’ plates, and project management systems built on Google Cloud, Vercel, and Firebase. Not a bad office for a sunny Friday 😎💻

A year ago, Thornapple Tech moved into our first office space. Today, we’re closing that door and stepping into a much larger chapter. 🚀

Our team is growing, and with that growth came the need for more room to build. We are incredibly fortunate to remain in beautiful downtown Hastings, moving into our new space directly above State Grounds and Three Birds Vintage. New signage and an inside look are coming as soon as we’re settled.

Building a business teaches you that you rarely get the full blueprint upfront. True vision isn't about forcing every "how" or predicting the final destination. It’s about having the conviction to execute on what is required of you today, and trusting God with the trajectory. His scope is always broader than our expectations.

I pray this next chapter is just the beginning. But regardless of what lies ahead, I am profoundly grateful for every step, lesson, and milestone that brought us to this door. 🙌💼

Who says summer break means turning off the brain? 🧠💡

A rainy evening gave us the perfect opportunity to dive into some hands-on tech education at home with our first ibrick build.

This kit is a fantastic example of smart learning tools: one modular set of blocks (including a motor) that drops a brand-new project challenge every week. It's safe to say the kids are hooked!

Always looking for ways to keep them busy that don't involve the TV or an iPad screen. What are your kids into this summer?

We have been BUSY at Thornapple Tech and the results are showing up. 📈

I ran reports today for a local Hastings business we partner with for online presence management. I'm thrilled to share that over the last three months, their average Google search position jumped from 29.1 to 6.9, taking them from page 3 straight to page 1 on average.

Even better? They skyrocketed to the top 2 spots for massive local search terms for their industry 🛠️

What moved the needle?

✅ Consistent Local Signals: Posting on social media 3–5 times a week to drive engagement and local relevance.
✅ Technical SEO Clean-up: Fixing underlying backend code issues so search engines can crawl the site flawlessly.
✅ On-Page Optimization: Aligning content so Google and modern AI search tools know exactly what they do and who they serve.
