Are you thinking about getting that 2-in-1 washer and dryer that’s ventless? Does it sound like a great idea? Yes. Does everyone understand the long term effects? Most likely not. This is a yearly cleaning project done on a ventless dryer. Not even a 2-in-1 washer and dryer combo. The dryer still has the same technology though.

When you have a dryer that removes moisture from your clothes, the most practical way is to vent it outside. The problem that happens with most dryers by far is VENTING. If I show up to a home and the dryer heats but takes too long, 99.9% of the time, clog or pinch or full restriction in venting. Otherwise you might have a long complicated setup or may vent through your attic(headache).

When you have one of the above setups, it gets rid of the moisture problem for you, if it does its job. Now we have the issue of getting rid of lint. As I said before, it is a great IDEA, but it doesn’t fully keep working well this way. This dryer has to be fully broke down and cleaned since it overheats from lint buildup, even though they clean out the lint trap daily. But at least once a year it overheats and can’t breathe and that’s where we come in to break it down just to clean and rebuild. You might ask, isn’t there an easier way to clean it without a full tear down? We wish….we wish.

For any advice even on best product to buy, best place to buy from(local not someone who uses 3rd party delivery), service contracts, etc. please message away. In the meantime, unless you absolutely have to and look forward to seeing me sweat from head to toe and take 2 hours to break this down and clean and reassemble, with the actual right amount of screws, please please please get a vented dryer. Now back to changing out heating elements and valves. 😂

Inviting family over for the holidays? Turning on that ice maker in full force to make sure you have enough for all your guests? When is the last time you cleaned it? Ice makers are the worst with scale and bacteria buildup. Make sure you are cleaning it every 30-60 days. If you haven’t, call or text our office and get on the books for a cleaning.

If so and your serial matches the ranges below, you might have an issue with your washer. Even if it’s out of warranty, Whirlpool is covering your repair for labor and the control. In most cases, the control is the problem.

The date that this coverage ends is 03/31/2026. So if you have one in this range and don’t call it in befofe the 31st, you will have to pay for the part and service call.

For those that think you need to use 2-3 pods in their washer, this is the result of one with no clothes. Imagine what it would be like with clothes and about 40% less water. Less is more with detergent. Don't get me started on fabric softener.

Do you have a Whirlpool or Amana top load washer or stacked laundry center? Check the model numbers and serial below if you have been having issues with your washer. There has been a common issue with controls on these models that have been causing the machine to read incorrect water levels. Even if you are out of warrant, Whirlpol is paying for the part and service call. To have it repaired.

It’s that time of the year again. If you are planning on using your appliances to cook for a group, family, yourself, please test everything ahead of time. Especially your appliances made in the last 4-6 years. Do not think because it worked last month it will work for you when you need it.

If your oven is dirty, please avoid using self clean!! I always get asked WHY??? Well when you use self clean, it heats it up to dangerous temperatures for all your components to be able to get rid of buildup. Every component has to work correctly to get all the buildup to cook away. Once one of the components fail to vent out the excess heat, it blows fuses and you are left with a locked and dead stove.

So please plan ahead and get that elbow grease to work getting everything cleaned out. If you have an appliance that needs repaired, do not hesitate to call us so we can try and get you back to planning your Thanksgiving meal.

Have you purchased a Samsung stove in the past 11 years? Samsung is recalling 1.1 million slide in ranges due to fire hazard from unintentionally turning burners on. If you have a Samsung slide in range, look through this list to see if you have one of these model numbers.
