Meet the Member: Christina Riches

Today we're spotlighting one of our own, Christina Riches, proud owner of The Spot..

Her mission is simple and it shows in everything she builds. Create a space filled with positivity, encouragement, and empowerment.

Christina is the kind of person who lights up when she's helping someone else win. Whether that's walking alongside a client's wellness and fitness goals or just showing up for someone navigating a hard season, she shows up fully.

At the core of what she does is a belief that runs deep. Every person has strength already inside them. Her job isn't to hand it to them, it's to help them see it.

That's the whole point of The Spot Tottenville. Becoming the best version of who you are, inside and out.

Meet our Member Cheryl Marquez!

Cheryl is the founder of Retreat Into Books, where she creates thoughtfully curated reading retreats for women who are ready to step away from their busy lives, slow down, and reconnect with themselves through the joy of reading.

By day, Cheryl is a program manager in the AI powered data security space, managing complex projects and responsibilities. She created Retreat Into Books because she understands firsthand how much women who constantly carry, lead, and accomplish need intentional time to rest.

Her retreats bring women together for peaceful reading, meaningful connection, and the freedom to simply be without expectations, pressure, or another item on the to do list.

Sunday reminder: Be bold. Take the leap. Go for it.

I know what it feels like to have a dream placed so deeply in your heart that you cannot stop thinking about it. I also know I am not the only one who has questioned herself, feared judgment or wondered if she was truly ready.

Maybe you feel it too. Maybe there is something you have been called to do, but fear keeps convincing you to wait. Maybe you have been shrinking yourself, silencing your ideas or worrying about what people will say if you finally choose yourself.

There comes a moment when we have to stop letting fear make decisions for Our lives.

Speak, even when your voice shakes. Show up, even when you feel unsure. Take the risk, even when you cannot see the entire path ahead. We may never feel completely ready, but sometimes courage is simply deciding that the life we dream about matters more than the fear holding us back.

We have spent enough time worrying about whether people will understand us, approve of us or judge the choices we make. The truth is, people will have opinions whether we move forward or stay exactly where the fk we are.

So LET THEM talk.

Choose yourself. Trust the vision placed in your heart. Take up space. Use your voice. Stop shrinking to make other people comfortable. Bet on yourself, even when it feels scary.

I do not want to reach the end of my life wondering what could have happened if I had simply been brave enough to try, and I do not want that for you either.

This season requires faith, courage, boldness and a little zero f***s given energy.

The lives we want are waiting on the other side of fear. Let's get it!

Designed by Sisterhood is officially one year old!

What began as a vision to create a safe and supportive space for women has grown into a beautiful community of 40 members. In our first year, we hosted more than 29 events, meetings and opportunities for women to learn, connect, collaborate and celebrate one another.

We could not have reached this milestone without every member, guest, speaker, sponsor, vendor and community partner who shared their time, talents and support with us. Thank you for believing in the vision and helping us bring it to life.

And we’re just getting started! Our next chapter includes a bunch of new opportunities....stay tuned...
