In order to run your race and finish your course, you must cultivate the ability to stay focused and steadfast. You won't do what you've been called to do if you are constantly sidetracked or attracted by other distractions. It's a daily choice to keep picking up your cross, especially when you feel like dropping it. To deny yourself, when all you want to do is embrace yourself. To follow Jesus, when you really want to follow your heart. To crucify your flesh, when you'd much rather gratify it. To stay on the narrow path, when the options on the broad path seem more enticing. To keep saying yes to Jesus, when it means saying no to yourself. There's only ever been one way to find your life and that is to lose it.
