We changed our name to Hawthorne Homesteaders: a group for networking, skill-sharing, and education for home producers in Hawthorne and surrounding areas. Stay tuned for speakers and events coming soon.

The Hawthorne Community Market has moved to Gainesville, and is now 435 South Main. We still carry products from our Hawthorne vendors alongside other local producers.

435 South Main is a a community platform for local grassroots entrepreneurship and education. The facility includes a co op retail space, commissary kitchen, pop-up cafe space, farm-to-table dining area, classroom accommodations & other resources.

The market will be open on Saturday while staff prepares the store for the impending storm. If you have merchandise in the store, or know someone who does, please make arrangements to remove your items on Saturday or let us know if you can make it in on Friday. We cannot guarantee your items will be there after the storm. The store has a LOT of windows that may not be able to withstand high winds and we may not be able to prevent nefarious activities in the event we experience a post-storm disaster.

Hooray! Endless Summer Ice Cream Company just passed their first inspection at the Hawthorne Community Market!! They are a new company started by a young couple out of Keystone Heights. Endless Summer uses a super cool nitrogen method to make ice cream on the spot at special events.

Another vendor passed inspection at the Hawthorne Community Market today! And this one now has a HAACP plan! We have room for a couple more small entrepreneurs. If you are interested in starting a mobile food business or are already a food business in need of an affordable commissary kitchen, send us a note or stop by.
