Hey everyone. Hope this finds you well. We have had some questions about how OUR auction sales work. We'll, here is an example of what happens after that Saturday sale.
Other companies take everything that didn't sell during the first 2 or 3 days, pile it in a room, then sell everything at high bid, even if its only $20, we don't do that.
We take those unsolds and offer them to others via our huge internet presence.
Let's talk about this trophy. This is a Balfour WS replica trophy assigned to the father of one of our clients. We had this trophy up for silent auction. Our top bid at the sale was $2000. Then we started getting calls from NY, Texas, and California. We, after consulting the family, and they following our advice, turned down those offers. (And the one guy from Texas got real mad about it.) So, after that fun, we reached out to the folks that helped us with that Abraham Lincoln letter a few years back.
Well, this piece is now coming up in a sports memorabilia auction in May. Their pre auction estimate starts at $8000. Heck of a difference.
Now, who would have been hurt had we just dumped everything in a room and sold it? (And remember,,,, our commission on sports memorabilia, stamps, coins, comic books, and military items is only 15% NOT the 40% others charge. )
We will publish the link next month. Right now, I just wanted folks to see what sets us apart from the rest of the pack. (And what my 48yrs experience and worldwide contacts can do for YOU.)
