And just like that… another amazing year of WeKan has come to an end. 💙✨🎓

Gracie — we are definitely going to miss your famous “Gracie laps” around the room 😂🏃‍♀️ and keeping a close eye on any cookies nearby 🍪😉. You always brought so much energy and fun to our days!

Hollis — your go-getter attitude, hard work, and dedication to the crew never went unnoticed. 💪🌟 You are always willing to help, work hard, and give your best in everything you do. We are so proud of you!

Hannah — we are going to miss all of your stories, conversations, and the way you could keep us talking all day long 😂💕 You always brought so much personality and joy to the crew!

Every single crew member has grown SO much this year, and we could not be more proud of each and every one of them. Watching their confidence, independence, friendships, and life skills grow has been such a blessing. 🌟💙

As we head into summer ☀️🍉🏖️, we hope all of our crew members have an amazing break filled with fun, relaxation, and making memories. We already can’t wait to see what next year brings! 💕

What an OUT OF THIS WORLD day at the Cosmosphere! 🚀🪐✨🌎☄️👨‍🚀

Our Wekan crew members had an amazing time exploring all things space! We visited Goddard’s Lab 🧪🚀, where students learned about Dr. Robert Goddard, the “Father of Modern Rocketry,” and got to see rocket experiments, inventions, and demonstrations that showed how rockets launch into space! 🔥🚀

Crew members also enjoyed the Planetarium 🌌✨ where we traveled through the stars and explored the universe from our seats! 🌠🛸

Lunch was provided by Spangles 🍔🍟 and we want to give a HUGE thank you to Rose Gottschalk and Curt Gottschalk for generously treating our crew! 💙

To top off the day, students were able to make independent purchases at the gift shop 🛍️👽 using money they worked hard to earn throughout the year! We are so proud of their responsibility, decision-making, and all the life skills they continue to build every day. 🌟

So many smiles, laughs, and memories made today! 🚀💫🪐

Our amazing friends over at Campbell Cottage are always willing to support growth in our WeKan members by offering all sorts of hands-on opportunities to help build independence, confidence, and job skills. 🫶🌟

Today, Tara, Hannah, Cam, and Jayden took on the challenge of helping put up a fence — and absolutely rocked it!! 🤩👏 They worked hard, showed teamwork, stayed positive, and proved they can tackle anything thrown their way! 🔨💯🙌

Today the WeKan Crew practiced important community and going-out-to-eat skills! 🍽️👏

Students worked on:
✨ Ordering their own food
✨ Using polite manners
✨ Reading menus
✨ Handling money/payment
✨ Making choices independently
✨ Waiting patiently
✨ Social communication skills

We are so proud of how respectful, responsible, and kind our crew was today! 💙

⛳️💚 Another awesome day with the WeKan Crew at putt putt golf! 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

Not only did we have FUN 😄, but we also worked on important life skills like keeping score ✍️➕, taking turns 🤝, problem solving 🧠, and encouraging our teammates 🎉💪.

Since Hays doesn’t currently have a movie theater, the WeKan staff decided to bring the movie theater experience to our crew members! 🎬🍿

Each crew member was given a $20 budget along with a movie theater concessions menu. Students had to plan and budget for what they could purchase, including their $6 movie ticket. Crew members practiced real-life skills such as budgeting, money management, decision-making, problem solving, and prioritizing wants versus needs.

Activities like these help build independence and prepare our students for everyday community experiences in a fun and engaging way. We loved seeing the excitement, teamwork, and thoughtful choices made throughout the activity!

Today our Wekan Crew had a blast swimming at the FHSU pool! 🏊‍♂️💦💙

Today was about so much more than swimming — our students practiced important life skills like teamwork, social interaction, confidence, and trying new things

🌟 One of the best moments was watching so many
crew members step outside of their comfort zones and take a leap off the diving board! 💪✨

We are so proud of each student for encouraging one another and showing that growth happens when we challenge ourselves ❤️
