For our next 40 Faces of FACS, we’re highlighting someone whose connection with FACS goes back a long way. Wendy’s history with FACS began in 1989, long before Benchmark Environmental became a division of FACS. Over the years, that connection grew from crossing paths within the industry to trusted referrals, professional collaboration, and eventually bringing our two teams together.
Throughout the year, we’ll be featuring 40 members of our team, asking them to share a short reflection on the question:
“What value or characteristic best defines FACS after 40 years?”

"My history with FACS dates back to 1989, when I was in business development for a competitor in the Bay Area and first met David Kahane. At the time, Dave and I frequently crossed paths at bid walks and industry events where he was actively presenting and educating the market.
When I launched Benchmark in 1994, FACS was the only firm I trusted with referrals. I regularly sent them referrals above our capacity/ability because I knew our clients would be in the best possible hands with their highly educated team.
When Fred and I joined the NorCal EIA Board together in 2019, it naturally drew our companies closer. Working alongside him, it quickly became clear that FACS was the ideal succession plan for Benchmark. I have always admired how strongly their core values—People First, Integrity of the Science, and Client Relationships for Life—shine through everything they do.
I am proud that Benchmark is now a Division of FACS, where the employees and clients will always be taken care of."
