Nearly two out of three veterans aren’t receiving VA disability compensation.

That doesn’t mean every veteran qualifies. But if you’ve never explored your eligibility because you feel like you “didn’t do enough,” I hope you hear this:

You are veteran enough.

It’s okay if you deployed. It’s okay if you didn’t. Some veterans come home without lasting conditions. Others have their lives changed forever. Your story doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s for it to matter.

After being medically retired with a low rating, I spent eight years feeling like I hadn’t done enough either. I know what it feels like to minimize your own struggles because someone else had it worse.

Don’t let guilt, pride, or a stranger on Reddit make that decision for you.

Four months ago, this veteran had no VA disability rating. Today, he’s at 60% with over $1,000 in monthly compensation, and we now have medical evidence to pursue 90%. 🇺🇸

Veterans, I promise there’s no such thing as a dumb question. Some just catch me off guard.

A veteran reached out to me two years ago wanting to get to 100%. I told him it would take more than filing the same way again. He needed current diagnoses for some conditions and medical opinions connecting others to his service connected disabilities.

He chose not to work with us, and that’s completely fine. There are free resources, too. But he also chose not to take those steps. Two years later, he’s still comparing his rating to other veterans’ ratings and getting denied. Based on the increase he was pursuing, that delay could represent more than $40,000 in potential compensation.

Believing you deserve 100% doesn’t establish a claim. The VA looks at your conditions, their severity, and the evidence connecting them to service or to an existing service connected condition.

If you’ve been denied for years, find out why. Get a second opinion. Use a VSO, work with us, or choose another resource you trust. Just don’t let another two years pass while you keep submitting the same evidence and hoping for a different decision.

Michael came to us less than a year ago with no rating. Three rounds later:

No rating to 40%
40% to 80%
80% to 100% Permanent and Total 🇺🇸

Throughout the process, Michael kept saying he was fine with wherever he landed and did not need to pursue more. We kept reminding him that this was not about asking for more than he deserved. It was about making sure his rating accurately reflected how much his conditions affect his life.

When we spoke today, he was still trying to process that this was real. Now he is looking forward to the property tax savings, state benefits, and additional security this provides for his family.

Michael, thank you for trusting us, trusting the process, and not settling.

If you’re going to sit there and be upset about us helping veterans receive the benefits they truly deserve, the least we can do is make it entertaining for the rest of us while we listen to you bitch. 😂🐈

You can stay mad. We’re going to keep helping veterans build legitimate claims, gather the proper medical evidence, and fight for what they earned through their service.

More veterans helped. More benefits awarded. More dancing cats. 🇺🇸
