Ridge Vineyards - Lytton Springs

Dino Amantite is part of the fourth generation to farm Pagani Ranch.

Felice Pagani planted the many small vineyard blocks that make up the ranch in two stages – the oldest in the late 1890s, the youngest around 1914. After establishing the vineyard, Felice cared for it until his death in 1926. His son Louis then took over and, likewise, farmed the vineyard for the rest of his life.

Today, the Pagani family’s legacy continues with Felice and Angela’s granddaughter, Norma Amantite, and her son, Dino Pagani Amantite, who farms and manages the ranch. The vineyard’s long survival is proof of its merit and the family’s commitment to it. An average site would have been abandoned during the thirteen years of Prohibition or during the Depression.

We are proud to be a part of their family tradition and have produced a Zinfandel-based field blend w**e from Pagani Ranch since 1991.

Mauro Maldonado is RIDGE's Director of Vineyard Operations at Lytton Springs, but he also grew up on the mountain at Monte Bello. Here, he gives us a look at what a typical day (night?) looks like in Sonoma County.

Lytton Springs - Our Dry Creek Valley Estate

The oldest vines at this site were planted in 1901. The vineyard is planted to a field blend: a mix of zinfandel, petite sirah, carignane, mataro, and more. Our first vintage was 1972, and we purchased the property 20 years later in 1992. The vines are organically farmed, hand picked, and sustainably farmed year-round to produce a w**e that requires minimal intervention in the w**ery.

The w**e from this site has reliably produced the quintessential example of Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel. Showing ripe boysenberry and blackberry, but also a pronounced rusticity and earthiness often attributed to its blending varieties, Lytton Springs is a prime example of RIDGE's commitment to championing exceptional, single-vineyard w**es.

Life Lately 💫

1. Had some fresh-squeezed juice with breakfast (Grenache Blanc from Adelaida)

2. Checked in on an old pal (Ponzo ZInfandel, Russian River Valley)

3. Invited some people over (Zins Blends & BBQ Event, Lytton Springs)

4. Went for a walk to get a bite with friends (Snacking on chenin blanc with Mike & Steve Heringer)

5. Woke up early to do it all over again (Picking Geyserville Old Patch, 4am)

What's really in your glass? W**e doesn't have to be a mystery.
