Following the application of base fertilizers, we sow cover crops selected according to the soil’s organic needs and the topography of the plots:

At the bottom of the slope, cereals absorb excess nitrogen thanks to significant natural drainage.
At the top of the slope, legumes promote the pe*******on and release of nitrogen into the soil.

Each year, the seed varieties are carefully analyzed, and the cover crop is renewed every two years in order to maintain an optimal balance for both the soil and the vine.

The soils of our vineyards at Trinité Estate have very specific slopes, which directly influence their condition and nutritional balance. To ensure the health and vigor of the vines, we have implemented a comprehensive soil preparation and amendment program.
First, base fertilizers — such as gypsum and lime — are applied to rebalance essential nutrients, both macro and micro, including zinc, iron, and manganese. This step forms the foundation of our amendments, which are essential to support vine growth.

This year, the harvest took place in mid-October in Sonoma.
A team of pickers worked from nightfall—or even before sunrise—to gather the grapes while they were fresh.
Harvesting at cooler temperatures helps preserve the natural acidity of the grapes and facilitates a cold pre-fermentation maceration lasting three to four days.
This step, typical of Californian winemaking, promotes the extraction of the purest aromas and more vibrant color before fermentation begins.
The result: juices full of purity, freshness, and balance.

Since 2012, Claire and Gonzague Lurton, owners of Grands Crus Classés in Bordeaux, have embarked on a personal project off the beaten path: Acaibo.

In the heart of Sonoma Valley, on their 10-hectare vineyard, they decided to rethink and rebuild everything: replanting, constructing a winery, and adapting their expertise to a new environment. True to their Bordeaux philosophy, Claire and Gonzague apply the principles of organic and regenerative farming.

Since the very first vintage, Acaibo has defined its style: a refined, structured wine, crafted at the crossroads of two worlds — the meeting of Bordeaux and California.

The 2019 vintage continues this legacy.
The 2019 growing season provided ideal conditions for the vines: moderate warmth at the start, mild temperatures, beneficial rainfall, and morning fog that acted as a natural cooler, preserving the grapes’ acidity and aromas. The result: exceptional fruit, yielding deeply colored, balanced, elegant, and high-quality red wines.

Acaibo 2019: the pure expression of a Bordeaux Blend… made in Sonoma.

Acaibo 2019 : l’expression pure d’un Bordeaux Blend… made in Sonoma.
