THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WATER DAMAGE IS ALLOWED TO KEEP WORKING BEHIND THE WALLS.

What started as a water-intrusion problem turned into a major structural repair.

Once this wall was opened up, the real damage became visible: deteriorated framing, compromised structural lumber, moisture damage, and sections that could no longer be trusted to properly support the home and exterior structure.

This isn’t a cosmetic repair.

We temporarily supported the structure before demolition, removed the damaged materials, exposed the affected framing, and began rebuilding the wall correctly with new pressure-treated lumber, structural support, sheathing, house wrap, and proper exterior protection.

This is why you don’t ignore water stains, soft wood, leaking walls, rotted rim joists, or moisture around a deck and foundation.

By the time you can SEE significant wood rot, the damage behind the finished wall can already be extensive.

Ohio Valley Labor LLC specializes in:

Structural wood repair
Rotted rim joist replacement
Rim joist repair
Sill plate repair
Rotten wall framing repair
Water damaged framing repair
Exterior wall repair
Load-bearing wall repair
Deck ledger repair
Deck structural repair
Foundation repair
Water intrusion repair
Basement waterproofing
Foundation waterproofing
Mold remediation
Water damage restoration

We don’t cover up damage and call it fixed.

We open it up. Find the cause. Support the structure. Remove what’s compromised. Rebuild it correctly.

When the ground becomes saturated, hydrostatic pressure builds around and underneath your foundation. Water can then enter through foundation cracks, block walls, basement floors, wall-to-floor joints, and other weak points.

Simply painting or sealing the inside of a wet wall doesn’t eliminate the water pressure behind it.

We specialize in identifying WHY your basement is leaking and installing the right solution for the property.

Another basement saved from water damage.

Hydrostatic pressure doesn’t care how old your home is. When the ground becomes saturated, water looks for the path of least resistance—through the cove joint, wall/floor seam, foundation cracks, and porous block walls.

This homeowner was dealing with water intrusion around the perimeter and garage. We installed a complete interior drainage system to capture groundwater before it reached the living space, directing it safely away from the foundation.

✅ Interior waterproofing system
✅ Perimeter drainage channel
✅ Fresh concrete restoration
✅ Clean, professional installation
✅ Lifetime transferable warranty

Don’t wait until a small leak becomes mold, ruined flooring, or structural damage.

Another basement. Another reminder that water always wins… unless you give it somewhere else to go.

These photos show what homeowners rarely see after a basement floods.

By the time water reaches the carpet, the damage has usually already made its way behind the drywall. That’s why we don’t believe in covering up the problem—we expose it, dry it correctly, and prepare the basement for a permanent solution.

Most basement leaks don’t start inside the basement. They start outside, where saturated soil creates hydrostatic pressure against your foundation. Eventually, that pressure forces water through the weakest point—whether it’s a wall crack, floor crack, cove joint, or even directly through the concrete.

The solution isn’t to hide the damage. The solution is to relieve the pressure and stop the water before rebuilding.

No shortcuts. No cover-ups. Just doing the job the right way the first time.

Heads up, Tri-State homeowners. Tomorrow could bring another round of heavy rain and severe weather.

The forecast is calling for:
💧 Heavy rainfall
💨 Damaging winds
🧊 Hail
🌪️ An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out

If your basement has leaked before, don’t assume it was a one-time event.

Here’s why:

When the ground becomes saturated, hydrostatic pressure builds around your home’s foundation. That pressure forces water through cracks, block walls, cove joints, and even directly up through the concrete floor.

Many people think they have a “foundation leak” when the real problem is the water pressure surrounding the home.

Before the storms arrive:
✅ Make sure your sump pump is working.
✅ Clear debris from gutters and downspouts.
✅ Move valuables off the basement floor.
✅ Check that your discharge line is clear.

If you end up with water in your basement after the storm, we’ll help you determine why it happened—not just clean up the mess.

At Ohio Valley Labor, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all waterproofing. We identify the source of the problem and install the right solution to relieve the hydrostatic pressure that’s causing it.

Severe storms are expected to move through the Tri-State tomorrow.

While most people are watching the forecast for damaging winds and hail, we’re watching for something else…

Hydrostatic pressure.

Every inch of rain saturates the soil around your home. As the ground becomes saturated, pressure builds against your foundation and beneath your basement floor. That pressure doesn’t simply disappear—it looks for the easiest way inside.

Take a look at these photos.

On this recent project, we had barely opened the basement floor before groundwater began filling the trench. In another spot, water was actively pushing up through the concrete itself.

That’s hydrostatic pressure in action.

This is why simply sealing a crack or painting basement walls isn’t a permanent solution. If the pressure remains, the water will eventually find another way in.

If tomorrow’s storms leave you with:
Water on the basement floor
Damp walls or seepage
A musty smell that wasn’t there before

Don’t ignore it. Those are signs your home is trying to tell you something.

At Ohio Valley Labor, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all waterproofing. We identify where the water is coming from, relieve the pressure causing the problem, and install systems designed to keep your basement dry for years to come.

Stay safe during tomorrow’s storms. If your basement doesn’t, give us a call.

Another water problem solved.

Today’s project was all about keeping surface water away from the foundation before it had the chance to become a bigger problem.
Water always follows the path of least resistance. If it’s allowed to collect against your home, it can eventually lead to leaks, foundation issues, or contribute to hydrostatic pressure around the foundation.

Every property is different, which is why we take the time to identify the source of the problem and install the solution that actually works.

If you’re dealing with standing water, poor drainage, or a wet basement, give us a call.

Many companies will tell you a dry basement starts outside. While proper grading, gutters, downspouts, and exterior drainage absolutely help, they don’t solve every problem.

The biggest issue we see is hydrostatic pressure groundwater building up beneath and against the foundation. Once that pressure builds, water doesn’t need poor grading or clogged gutters to get in. It can force its way through floor cracks, cove joints, wall cracks, and even directly through concrete and block walls.

That’s why Ohio Valley Labor LLC identifies the source of the problem first. When hydrostatic pressure is the cause, an interior waterproofing system relieves that pressure and safely directs the water to a sump pump before it reaches your basement.

Every home is different. The right solution is based on the cause of the water intrusion—not a sales pitch or a cookie-cutter system.
