May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
And I want to talk about what mental health looks like for Black women—because it’s different.

Yes, therapy matters. Medication matters. Professional support matters.

But you know what else matters?
    •    Permission to not be the strong one
    •    Spaces where you’re witnessed, not fixed
    •    Rest that doesn’t require justification
    •    Community that holds you when you break
    •    Revelation of what was never yours to carry

Mental health for Black women isn’t just about healing what’s broken. It’s about revealing the capes, masks, and armor. Seeing what’s been invisible. Creating sacred space to name the weight.

That’s Phase 1 of The VOICE Framework: REVEAL.
Because you can’t release what you haven’t first seen.

What’s one thing you’re ready to reveal? Drop it below👇🏾

🤍Join us for Liberation Lives In Your Voice — a free monthly gathering for Black women leaders. Every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

You were not born exhausted.

Somewhere along the way, you were taught to carry more than was ever yours. The journey isn’t about fixing what’s wrong with you. It’s about:

REVEALING what’s been invisible
RELEASING what was never yours
RECLAIMING your identity and power
REIGNING in your full self

From exhausted and silent → to fully, freely, unapologetically YOU.

Where are you on this journey? Drop it below👇🏾

🤍Experience the VOICE Framework live at Liberation Lives In Your Voice — a free monthly gathering.

Every 3rd Wednesday of the month 6pm. Link in bio.

We just wrapped Recess: The Joy Experience—3 days of something radical:

Permission to play. Permission to pause. Permission to experience joy without earning it.

Here’s what I witnessed:

Black women leaders who haven’t laughed like that in months
Shoulders that finally dropped
Walls coming down in real time
Joy—actual, embodied, unapologetic joy

Recess was a reminder: Joy isn’t the reward for finishing the work. Joy IS the work.

This is just the beginning. 🤍

Drop a 🎉 if you want to know when the next one is happening!

My mother gave me strength.💕
She showed me how to show up when it was hard. How to carry what felt impossible. How to push through when everything in me wanted to stop.

And because of her, I was still standing.

But I also knew something else: she was tired. She carried so much—often alone—so that I could have more options, more opportunities, more room to breathe.

So yesterday, I honored her legacy by doing something radical:

I rested without guilt.I asked for help without shame.I put myself on my own list.I began building the life she dreamed of for me.

Not because she failed me—but because she succeeded.
She gave me the foundation. And I got to build something beautiful on top of it.

That was the greatest honor I could give her: to live—fully, freely, joyfully.

Happy Mother’s Day again, to the women who gave us everything. And to us, as we honored their sacrifice by refusing to just survive.🤍
