A year-round pool. A skate park. A teen hangout. What’s your pick? 🏊 🛹

Phase I residents had big ideas for places to gather and play, from a new pool and skate park to an ice rink, a bowling alley, and a safe space for teens. Students even asked for evening spots to study and meet up.

Recreation working groups meet Oct. 5 and 6 to narrow the list, choose top projects, and start building action plans.

As East Helena grows, how do we take care of each other? 🤝

Seniors and support services came up in nearly every Phase I listening session. Residents talked about a new senior center, reliable transportation, safe and accessible walkways, and ways to keep neighbors connected. Healthcare and food access were on the list too.

Now it’s time to turn those ideas into a plan. Social services working groups meet Mon and Tue, Oct. 5 and 6, to pick priority projects and map out the next steps.

In Phase I, 58% of survey respondents said the availability of products and services makes it hard to support local businesses. Residents also asked for more restaurants, everyday retail, and job pathways for young people.

This spring, East Helena showed up:
📝 489 survey responses
🗣️ About 110 residents across 8 listening sessions
🗳️ A town hall vote to pick the top priorities

What rose to the top? More local businesses and jobs, stronger senior and social services, and more places to gather and play.

Now those ideas become real projects, and we need you in the room. In the survey, the most common reason residents gave for not getting involved was simple: they didn’t know about it. So consider this your invite. 😉
