⚠️ TICK SEASON IS HERE — AND HEALTH OFFICIALS ARE WARNING THAT 2026 COULD BE A BIG YEAR FOR TICKS AND LYME DISEASE!
Recent reports from health officials and the CDC indicate that tick activity is expected to be especially high this year, with an increase in tick bites and tick-borne illnesses being reported across many parts of the country. Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and even alpha-gal syndrome (a red meat allergy linked to tick bites) remain significant concerns.
Whether you're gardening, hiking, mowing the lawn, or simply enjoying time outdoors, it's important to take precautions:
✔ Wear long sleeves and long pants when possible
✔ Use an EPA-approved insect repellent
✔ Stay on cleared paths and avoid tall grass and brush
✔ Perform thorough tick checks after spending time outdoors
✔ Check children and pets carefully, too
Pennsylvania continues to be a hotspot for tick activity, making prevention more important than ever. Experts are also reporting higher-than-normal emergency room visits for tick bites this year.
