She puts out around the same amount of heat our 3 stage Grand burner produces! But her mid-range is not very desirable. I’m thinking this torch would make a great lathe torch. Her flame is a bit buttery, more like the fuel mixture you get from a PM2D but a bit more concentrated.

She needs a Nick Name! Any suggestions? 😁

Every once and a while I like to go back and runs and old prototype torch we chose to shelve for one reason or another, and yesterday I grabbed this bad boy!
•
I can’t seem to find my notes on it but from a previous post, I mention it was only able to produce the same amount of BTU’s as the Bravo torch, and since its design is way more challenging to assemble, we shelved it because it would cost more than what the market would be willing to pay for that type of fire power.
•
After running it a bit yesterday, I can assure you it produces WAY more heat than the Bravo 🔥BUT I didn’t have it hooked up to flow meters, so what I could have been experiencing is a lot of raidiant heat 🥵 which isn’t exactly the goal. We want the flame to melt glass and not the artist 😂

One thing is for sure, we will be running more tests on this design this summer!

Working on this bad boy today! The original Bethlehem Sharp Flame Hand Torch! This torch was produced back in the 1960’s, before Bethlehem started machining our own valves. The issue with this torch, is that the gas valve is leaking up by the packing (where the pin meets the cap). Keeping fingers crossed our techs can fix this issue, because we have very little replacement parts for this torch 🤞🤞🤞

If you have an old school Bethlehem Burners torch you’d like us to service, please go to our “Service and Warranty” page on our website and fill out the burner repair form, then follow the instructions on how to send your torch in. We’ll test your torch at no charge and let you know what we can do for it. If the torch cannot be repaired, we’ll clean her up and send her back to you at no charge.
