πŸ”₯ Ash Pole Fire πŸ”₯

HVFD went to help our neighbors to the north, starting late Wednesday evening.
The first initial night of attack we staffed two type 6 (grass rigs) and a tender. The following morning we sent a relief crew of four and continued with fire fighting efforts until 2100 hours Thursday evening.
Significant containment has occurred over the last few days with calmer winds and lower temperatures.

Hemingford was just one of the many resources working this rugged terrain fire.

Lookout Hemingford....
There's a new ambulance in town πŸš‘

HVFD received our long-awaited, new and improved ambulance # 410.

American Response Vehicles (ARV) delivered the truck this afternoon and provided HVFD and Hemingford Rural Fire Protection Department a demo of all the bells and whistles.

We want to thank HRFPD and the Village of Hemingford for all their support in this 5 year long endeavor!

πŸŽ‰ HVFD Spouse Appreciation & Awards NightπŸŽ‰

We had the opportunity to honor our spouses and families this last month and thank them for the role they play in our department. We can't do what we do without them!

These men and women deserve so much recognition. We get their support in many ways. Whether its getting us meals on long shifts, helping rehab the trucks when we get back in the middle of the night, and everything in between, they do it all!

We honored a few of our members with years of service milestones as well. Marly Pehoviack received her 5 year plaque and Mark Klemke received his 30 year plaque. πŸ‘

Special shout-out to Hemingford Girls Wrestling for serving our meal. Great job everyone.

Thank you again to our fire department family, you guys rock!!

πŸŽ₯ Video taken and shared to us from another local department.

Hemingford and another local VFD type 6 worked alongside each other their entire shift at the Minor Fire. 🌩 πŸ”₯

A great video showing unified crew dynamics on the fire line.

πŸ“’ HVFD had the proud honor of hosting the Rocky Mountain Incident Management Team 2 (Blue Team) πŸš’ this weekend.
This team consists of folks from all around the U.S. Photos of the team throughout the day are posted below.πŸ“·

We started the day with a tour of our fire station.
Then we had a delicious Easter meal waiting for them at The Legion Post #9. Special shout-out to Margaret Hansen and her amazing staff for feeding this highly deserving crew a wonderful home-cooked meal!

Later, the crew, along with HVFD members conducted case study trainings at the fire hall.🌩 πŸ”₯

We want to thank several folks for the role they played in hosting our guests.

THANK YOU - Margaret Hansen and her staff at The Legion Post # 9, for feeding the team a delicious meal and on such short notice!

THANK YOU - Alaina Schaneman and the Box Butte County Fairboard for offering us space to conduct trainings!

THANK YOU - TableTop Meats for providing meat and cheese trays during classroom trainings!

From the department to the community...
We cannot express enough gratitude for the generosity you showed our guests! With your help we were able to showcase the incredible hospitality of western Nebraska!

From Chief Bucheit, "I want to personally thank all the people that helped put this day together. Thank you so much."

We are so proud of our community and are always proud to serve you! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Thursday (3/26) morning came early for some of our members.

Tones went off shortly after 3 am for a mutual aid assist for Grant County in the area of Ashby.
Hemingford responded by sending one Type 6 (grass rig) and a Type 2 (tactical tender). With several members deploying and a crew swap; HVFD helped fight fire from 3 am to 11 pm that day at the Minor Fire.πŸ”₯

Once again we want to thank our families/community for your support of our department and members. We couldn't do this without you! ❀️

As part of severe weather awareness week we will testing tornado sirens today at about 9am.
