According to the National Park Service, "Lake Mead bald eagle count soars to highest number in 5 years"

A survey of bald eagles last week at Lake Mead National Recreation Area counted 137 bald eagles and five golden eagles — the highest number in five years and above the 10-year average.

Record Breaking Visitor Numbers at Zion National Park

Zion National Park, which we feature on our "Long Shot Tour #1", had record breaking attendance in 2017. According to the National Park Service, Zion had over 4.5 million visitors, eclipsing 2016's record year of 4.3 million visitors. A 5% increase!

National parks will waive their entrance fees for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

A number of national parks we provide tours to, including Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, and Zion are waiving their entrance fees for MLK Day Monday January 15.

All National Park Service sites will be free to the public on Monday.

Red Rock Canyon Entrance Fees Rising

Entrance fees to beautiful Red Rock Canyon, which we feature on our High Roller & Wise Guy Tours, are increasing in February 2018. More information available here:

Starting Feb. 20, the price to enter the 13-mile scenic drive and the campground at Red Rock will more than double, from $7 to $15 for a car or truck and from $3 to $10 for a motorcycle.

Dam Short Film Festival

Hoover Dam is one of the stops on our Three of a Kind Tour, and is just 20 minutes outside of Boulder City, NV, which will be holding it's 14th annual "Dam Short Film Festival" this year.

According to organizers, the Dam Short Film Festival is held in the historic Boulder Theatre, which was built in 1933 by Fox Theaters and is currently owned by Desi Arnez, Jr (real-life son of I Love Lucy's Ricky Ricardo).

The 2018 categories for the short films are Best Drama, Best Documentary, Best Animation, Best Comedy, Best Sci-Fi/Horror, Best Nevada Filmmaker, Best Student, Best Music Video, Best of the Fest, Final Draft Best Screenplay, and the Leslie Paige Award for Excellence in Short Filmmaking.

The 14th Dam Short Film Festival will take place Feb. 8-11th of 2018. More information can be found on their website, http://damshortfilm.org/.
