REDUCING TAXES AND FILING TAXES ARE DIFFERENT SERVICES
Most clients who come to me for a tax savings assessment already have a CPA or tax professional.
Their returns are accurate, filed on time, and on paper, nothing is wrong.
But they're still overpaying the IRS by $50,000 or more a year.
It usually isn't the CPA's or tax professional's fault.
Filing your taxes and reducing your tax bill are two different kinds of work, and most CPAs only do the first.
A CPA's job is to take what already happened last year and report it correctly.
But by the time their return is being prepared, the tax year is already over. The numbers are set, and there is almost nothing left to change.
The work that reduces your taxes happens during the year, before December 31.
It means looking at how you're paid, how your business is structured, and what tax strategies are available at your income level.
For nearly every client I work with, the savings come from well documented tax strategies stacked together with a strategic tax investment or two.
Several of strategies most have never heard of because their tax professional was in compliance mode after the year had ended and didn't have the resources to execute on the strategies.
Which strategies apply to you depends on your situation. A W-2 earner has different strategies available compared to a business owner.
The only way to find out is to look at your actual numbers.
