In addition to her own work, Xave serves as Small Business Coordinator with The Metropolitan Business League (The MBL) , and a Program Coordinator and Small Business Consultant at Virginia State University's Center for Entrepreneurship. Xave is also a certified Kauffman FastTrac program facilitator. Also serving as a President of The Richmond Virgina Awards Organization, and Board Chair member of several community and youth organizations like, Virginia Main Street- Petersburg, Community of Consciousness—an extension of The Black Vegan Experience mission, Yoshi Kidz Youth Academy, and also Umoja Nation, a non-profit dedicated to social and economic empowerment of minority families and organizations—Xave is deeply committed to helping others become the next generation of trailblazers and business leaders. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Xave's dedication to philanthropy and the arts is at the heart of everything she does. Before you gather this “holiday” season, ask yourself: Are you honoring truth—or tradition built on lies?

As I’ve deepened my studies in philosophy, etymology, and ancestral wisdom, I’ve come to this truth: Much of what we were taught to celebrate was never built for us.

It was built on us.

Since 1970, Indigenous communities have honored Thanksgiving as a National Day of Mourning—a resistance to the false narrative that erased genocide, land theft, and cultural manipulation.

Meanwhile, descendants like me are waking up from the veil of ignorance passed down since the 1800s.

We are reclaiming what colonizers rebranded, renamed, and resold to us.
We are no longer playing along.

This year?
I’m not just gathering with family.
I’m teaching truth.
I’m restoring legacy.
I’m reviving the ancient ways that connect us to who we’ve always been.

So before you post the plate this year…
Ask yourself:

📌 What do your ancestors say it meant?
📌 And who are you ready to become now that you know?
