Help 2 Hunt Western Big Game Expertise Ben Rodriguez is the founder and owner of Help2Hunt.com and has been hunting Big Game for 30 years across the west.

As a kid growing up on a farm in eastern Oregon, hunting was an annual tradition for friends and family. At an early age being exposed to hunting is what turned a tradition into a passion. Spending many years pursuing his goals in the rodeo world as a calf roper until around 2008 but every fall it was back to the woods. After hanging up rodeo the main focus became hunting as much as possible. Mainly hunting Oregon most of his life it was time to branch out. In 2006 an Idaho OTC r***e elk tag produced a nice 300 inch 6 point bull; this was too motivated to seek out new hunting opportunities across the West. Having hunted in Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona has given Ben a vast amount of knowledge of different areas and potential that the western states provide

Opening day was a long one. 11.5 miles and quite a bit of elevation gained and lost. No bucks were harmed or seen. I did see a Wolverine which I feel is a rare occurrence in Oregon. I saw goats, does, piles of elk,and a bobcat as well. This is some cool and rough country to hunt. Hopefully next weekend we can turn up some deer with antlers. Probably didn’t help that there were 14 vehicles at the trailhead 🤢😬. I think I need to a horse and some younger mules so we can leave the crowds behind Zach Mansfield

The mules got their annual haircuts and feet trimmed a little 🥵. Packing in a little more feed for the season. Hopefully they get to pose with an elk rack or two on their backs this year.
