Most pre-IPO shareholders focus on one number: the IPO price. That’s usually not where the important decisions get made. The real questions look more like:

- How much concentration risk do you actually want to carry?
- What does the tax impact look like across different scenarios and across multiple years, especially in California?
- Which shares get sold first, and why does the order matter?

By the time most people start thinking about this, the planning window has already narrowed. Most of the work happens before liquidity, not after.
