Rules of etiquette a lot of kids are unknowingly breaking – etiquette that could be holding them back from making a great impression,

What are your top 5 social hurdles with your children? What would you like to know? Here are some of the things I hear parents share

1. Not using electronics at the dinner table. Show others that their presence is important to you.
2. Doing tasks for adults without complaining. Don’t make their lives more complicated by arguing.
3. Writing thank-you notes when you receive gifts. Technology is great, but sometimes people need a more personal touch.
4. Answering questions with more than 1 word answers
5. Not interrupting when grownups are talking. Wait for your turn, no matter how impatient you feel.

SUMMER TRAVEL ETIQUETTE- True or False?

1. The person in the middle seat gets access to both armrest? True. The window seat has a wall to lean against and the aisle seat has more leg room, so allow the middle seat to have some space as well.

2. It’s fine to recline your airline seat? True, but be cautious. Think about meal services and the length of the flight. As we know, once one person reclines then everyone else follows suit.

3. On a road trip backseat riders should stay quiet? True. Unless addressed directly about something, refrain from being a backseat driver.

4. When checking out of hotels, leaving a tip for housekeeping is optional? False. Leave $3-$5 dollars per day for housekeeping and leave the room tidy.

Are your kids gamers? Here are 4 tips for raising kids to have good gaming etiquette.

1. Remind them they are playing against real people. Remember that just because you are hiding behind a screen, that does not give you the right to be disrespectful or rude.

2. Remind your kids that before they type anything out of anger or frustration encourage your child to treat their gaming teammates or friends with the same respect they would real-life friends too.

3. Know the rules and set appropriate times to play the games without interruption. If Grandma is coming over in 15 minutes to visit, it might not be a good time to start your game.

4. When the bullying or negativity starts in an online game, empower your kids to stop it instantly. manners

Looking for a way to better yourself in the workplace this year? Here are some suggestions for business etiquette.

1. Don’t forget to say thank-you
Although handwritten thank you notes are becoming less and less common, remember that in the business world, an email thank you is acceptable but if you want to make a lasting impression a handwritten thank-you note will always make you stand out.

2. Use people’s name
When speaking with colleagues or clients always use their names when you can. It makes it personal and they feel memorable.

3. Give Your Attention
Make an effort to put your cell phone down or stop working on the computer when meeting with a colleague.

Headed out to a party tonight? Conversation tip this New Years eve! Don't talk for more than 20 seconds in a conversation. If you stay within 20 seconds that's a green light, beyond 30 seconds that is a yellow light and over 40 seconds is a RED light. in 2023!
