Technology continues to play a critical role in helping U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) address the complexity of the border mission.

Unissant has supported that mission for years, working across systems and workflows that enable border operations. More recently, we have helped CBP operationalize GenAI, creating a foundation for moving AI from experimentation into secure, mission-focused use.

At this year’s IDGA Border Technology Summit, we’ll be looking at what comes next.

Unissant’s Manish Malhotra, Sumeet Shrivastava, Alka Bhave and Brad Barker will join Skip Owens, D-Wave Government and Military Sector, in San Diego, September 17-18, to discuss how hybrid quantum-classical computing could further strengthen the border mission.

Through our partnership with D-Wave, we are exploring where quantum optimization can complement the AI, data, and modernization investments already underway – particularly for high-volume, constraint-heavy challenges involving resource allocation, logistics, and other complex operational decisions.

We look forward to engaging with leaders from across the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and industry about the technologies already changing border operations and where emerging capabilities can create additional mission value.

George Mason University’s Board of Visitors has elected our President and CEO, Sumeet Shrivastava, as rector, where he will lead George Mason’s governing board as the university develops its next strategic plan and looks ahead to the future of public higher education.

Sumeet’s relationship with George Mason spans decades, from earning his MBA there to serving as president of the Alumni Association and chair of the George Mason University Foundation Board of Trustees. Across that time, his focus has been on expanding opportunity.
