CLARA LIVE 🔔 Herreid Has Friday’s Largest Sale So Far With Some Big-Time Steer Sales

Herreid Livestock Auction in Herreid, South Dakota, had the largest sale in the country so far Friday, with a number of big-time steer sales. Heavy steers included 52 head at 1,035 pounds bringing $309.25, 57 head at 1,002 pounds at $315.50, 56 head at 991 pounds at $321.50 and 56 head at 976 pounds at $321.25. Other highlights included 68 head at 900 pounds at $328.00, 69 head at 891 pounds at $329.00, 69 head at 883 pounds at $332.50 and 69 head at 874 pounds at $339.00 per cwt.

There’s something pretty special about watching young people ride into the arena carrying on traditions that have been passed down for generations.

4-H 🍀 Rodeo teaches so much more than how to rope, ride, or run a pattern. It teaches hard work, responsibility, perseverance, sportsmanship, respect for livestock, and the value of getting back up and trying again. Those are lessons that reach far beyond the rodeo arena.

We encourage everyone to come out and support these young cowboys and cowgirls. Fill the stands, cheer them on, and let them know that what they’re doing matters.

Our western heritage and agricultural way of life don’t continue on their own — they continue because we teach them, support them, celebrate them, and pass them on to the next generation.

We’re proud to play a small part in supporting the youth who are helping keep that heritage alive and thriving.
