๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Honoring the Brave ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ Remembering on Memorial Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

This weekend, as we gather with loved ones and enjoy the freedom that has been hard-earned, let us take a moment to remember and honor the courageous men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Let us also remember the families and friends left behind, who bear the weight of loss every day. Their strength and resilience inspire us, reminding us of the deep bonds that tie us together as a nation.

Today, let us not only reflect on the past, but also reaffirm our commitment to upholding the values for which so many have given their lives. May we strive for unity, understanding, and compassion, knowing that it is our responsibility to ensure that their sacrifices were not in vain.

Together, let us honor their memory, ensuring that their legacy lives on in the fabric of our nation.

โญ Thankful Thursday.: A Routine that Inspires Gratitude & Appreciation โญ

Recently, while facilitating a leadership class, I had the privilege of learning about a routine from one of the participants. This leader, shared his unique approach to fostering a culture of gratitude and recognition within his team. Inspired by his leadership, I want to implement this practice into my own life, and share it with others.

The concept is beautifully simple yet incredibly impactful: Thankful Thursdays. As the name suggests, every Thursday, this leader and his team dedicate a few minutes of their day to express genuine appreciation and send thank-you notes | emails to individuals who positively impacted their operations over the past week. These notes are not limited to direct reports; they extend to colleague, mentors, and even those in different departments who have contributed to their success.

By adopting Thankful Thursday, this leader has created a powerful ripple effect of gratitude throughout his entire department.

This routine is so powerful for a few reasons:

1) Cultivating a Culture of Appreciation: In the fast -paced hybrid world we live in, it's easy to overlook the contributions of others. Thankful Thursdays compels us to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the efforts and support we receive from those around us. As a result, we foster a culture of appreciation that uplifts team morale and strengthens relationships.

2) Recognition Beyond the Obvious: Thankful Thursday prompts us to acknowledge not only the obvious achievements but also the smaller, yet significant , contributions that often go unnoticed.

3) Building Trust and Engagement: Thankful Thursdays serves as a reminder that every person's contributions matter and are integral to the team's success.

4) Spreading Positivity: Thankful Thursday has a contagious positive reflection on both the send and the recipient of the thank-you note. It brightens someone's day, boosts morale, and reinforces the sense of purpose and fulfillment that comes from making a difference.

I am grateful to the leader who shared his routine with me.

Imagine the power and impact Thankful Thursday could have on your leadership, your team, and the lives of others.

Imagine making Thankful Thursdays a movement worth celebrating.

If you are a struggling athlete, watch this video.
If you know a struggling athlete, share this video with them.

I intentionally posted this for athletes who might be going through a difficult time.

Jalen Hurts is resilient.

January 2018, Jalon gets pulled at halftime in the National Championship Game.
Alabama wins the game Jalon on the bench.

The media is in his face immediately after the game asking about getting pulled.
Jalen eloquently handles the press. "We just won a national championship!"

Later he breaks down and shares his disappointment in the privacy of a hotel room with his family.

He asks his parents, "What are we going to do?"
His Dad says we are going to fight.

Eleven months later - he goes into the SEC championship game for the injured starting quarterback.
Alabama is losing when he enters the game.
He leads the team to a comeback win and the SEC title.

2023 Jalon Hurts leads the Eagles into the Superbowl Game.

Tough times?
What are you going to do?
Fight and get better?
Or complain and give up?

When we have a disappointing performance (and all athletes will) - that performance is ONE moment in time.
One performance is not a life sentence.
Learn and continue to put in the work.

This is Jalen Hurtsโ€™ epic story of redemption. From being benched in the national championship game - To coming off the bench to lead a comeback victory in ...
