Prepare before heavy rain arrives! A few repairs and checks now can help prevent costly water damage.
✅ Clear gutters and downspouts. Remove leaves and debris, and make sure runoff drains away from your foundation.
✅ Check your roof. Have damaged shingles, loose flashing, and existing leaks repaired before storms arrive.
✅ Inspect windows and doors. Replace worn weatherstripping and repair failed seals. Keep window drainage holes clear.
✅ Check drainage around your home. Clear yard drains and watch for areas where water pools against the house or garage. Avoid directing runoff onto neighboring properties.
✅ Protect belongings inside. Move valuables, electronics, and boxes off garage floors. Store important documents in waterproof containers.
✅ Prepare for vulnerable entryways. Have sandbags or flood barriers ready if water has entered there before.
