We love hearing stories like this from our owners. 💯

Mary Frances spent the summer running the Bahamas—from the Abacos to the Exumas and across to the Berry Islands—and put their Mag Bay 43’ to work.

“The boat performed perfectly and met all of our family’s needs. The stepped hull lets you run smoothly at 50 mph even in a 2–3 ft chop. Only boat we’ll be buying.”

Built to run. Built for the family. Built for wherever the next adventure takes you.

The Mag Bay 43’ continues to prove why it’s in a class of its own.

How can you tell a boat company is special? Let the workers tell you how it really is.
When word got out that Mike and Barrett were building boats again, the old crew didn't wait for a phone call or invitation.
The same craftsmen who helped build Cabo's reputation walked through the door on day one.
That meant Mag Bay started with the same build quality and culture Cabo was famous for. When boatbuilders take pride in their craft, that shows up in ways an owner might never see but truly appreciates.

Not all stepped hulls are created equal.
Most people know the classic stepped hull, the cutouts are easy to see. Mag Bay runs a cross-step hull, which has transverse and longitudinal steps working together, that introduces air under the hull from the bow aft instead of from the cutouts back.
This results in a smoother, softer ride.
Barrett breaks it down simply to help us understand why these boats run the way they do. Hear more from Mike and Barrett of Mag Bay on the design behind every build in

How do you know when a boat is built 'right'?
Some things hold more weight than others for everyone - we're all different.
For Mike and Barrett, it's all in the details of every Mag Bay build. They want you to open the hatches and look in the places you're not supposed to. The wiring, the plumbing, under the gunnels.
That's where a Mag Bay shines.
The details are an obsession for them. They just can't help it. And to some people - that means the world.

There are moments in life we never forget. Sometimes they're so clear it feels like yesterday.
For Barrett, February 15, 2006 was one of those. The day he got the text from his Dad Mike that the sale of Cabo was official.
Barrett's whole childhood was built inside that company and losing it hurt - especially because Mike didn't want to sell Cabo.
But boat building is in their veins and Mike couldn't wait to start again - this time with Barrett right beside him.
Hear the story of the Howarths, selling Cabo and starting Mag Bay in EP 027 of the Rising Tidecast.
