Roadways are wet right now, and as temperatures drop below freezing around 7pm, black ice could begin forming on bridges, curves, and shaded areas. 🧊

If you’re out tonight, please drive carefully and take it slow.

Be advised that lanes will be closed on US 76 and SR 288 (Sunnyside Road) in the morning on Saturday, 3/14, for the Hiawassee Half Marathon & 5K. Sunnyside will be a one-way eastbound only.

Please be careful driving on Saturday and watch for runners.

Lane cone marking will begin around 6am and closure will begin around 7am. Lanes will reopen on a rolling basis as the race comes through, with the last opening by about 12:30pm.
