Found bed bugs in your home? It’s stressful, but you have options. 🛏️

Our newest blog breaks down what to expect from professional bed bug treatment in North Carolina:

🔍 Inspection comes first. We check bedrooms, living areas, and the tiny cracks and crevices where bed bugs hide, looking for live bugs, shed skins, eggs, and f***l spots.

🌡️ Treatment is tailored to your home. Depending on the situation, that can mean chemical treatments, heat treatments, cryo-treatments, or a combination, all aimed at every life stage from eggs to adults.

🧺 Prep matters. Declutter, wash and dry bedding and clothing on high heat, vacuum thoroughly, and pull furniture away from the walls so technicians can reach everything.

📅 Follow-up is part of the process. Eggs can be stubborn, so re-inspections usually happen 2-3 weeks after the first treatment to catch anything that hatched later.

Why not DIY? Bed bugs are tiny, nocturnal, and great at hiding, and some have developed resistance to over-the-counter products. DIY often only handles the bugs you can see.

Stinkbug season is here. 🪲

Here’s how to keep them out:
✔ Caulk around windows, doors, and siding
✔ Add door sweeps and weatherstripping
✔ Repair torn window screens
✔ Seal gaps where pipes and wires enter your home

Already got a few? Vacuum them (put pantyhose over the hose end or use a shop vac so the smell stays contained) and give us a call if more keep showing up.

We all love ladybugs, but this one's an imposter. 🕵️ The Asian lady beetle looks just like its harmless cousin, but every fall it swarms into homes by the hundreds, stains walls and curtains, gives off a foul odor, and can even bite. Spot the difference: look for the "M" marking behind the head. Don't let the cute spots fool you. A-1 Pest Control can show them the door. 🚪

Did you know that termites have wings? They use their wings to swarm, which is how they reproduce and form new colonies. After that job is done, they pop the wings right off and become the ground dwelling, wood eating creatures we all love to hate. Gross 🤮.
