Hickory Wireless is now collecting laptops, cell phones, camera systems, and other analog and digital devices which command a business that knows where the proper place for all of these End Of Life- or, not yet perhaps- gadgets and office tools should go.

Many, many scrapers and electronics hoards bring in computers they've found on the side of the road, from their own offices and even from their own homes, which host an entire career of a lawyer, including banking information, dates of birth for himself, friends and own his family is and potentially even his clients' and employees!
I see Tax ID's, Social Security numbers, EFile Tax credential's to the IRS, case notes for confidential cases in criminal defense, civil cases, divorces- name it! This isn't only unwillfully neglectful, keelping in mind lawyers must keep closed case files stored away for at least 6 years after a legal case is disposed of.

Items for recycling can be brought to Sunoco on Hwy 321 North, across from Siecorp Corporate Plaza. Soon there will be locked, metal receptacles with 24hr surveillance, and keep in mind- Hickory Wireless will come to pick up almost ANYTHING- from ANYWHERE from you- JUST ASK!!!

Increasingly you may begin to notice bins for electronic waste to be left for us to pick up, destroy all information and recycle properly. Thanks for your help in this effort!!!!

Top 10 Reasons to Recycle Electronics

There are multiple reasons you should think twice about putting your old computers and electronics in the trashcan when they are at the end of their useful lives. Turtle Wings has outlined the top 10 reasons to recycle electronics properly.

1 – Computers contain many chemicals and materials that are hazardous to the environment.

2 – For this reason, throwing away computers and electronics with regular garbage is illegal in many states. In 2011, Target had to pay the state of California $22.5 million as a result of improperly dumping hazardous waste, including e-waste.

3 – Most of the e-waste in the world, that isn’t processed through a certified electronics recycler, ends up in 3rd world countries. Many of these countries are not aware, or are incapable of addressing, the environmental issues caused by dumped e-waste.

4- In 3rd world countries that improperly process e-waste, chemicals often seep into water supplies. These water supplies become polluted which poisons the people and livestock that live near these dumpsites.

5 – In 3rd world countries that improperly process e-waste, precious metals are often ‘recovered’ by burning materials in open air fires which pollutes the air.

6 – Disposing of your electronics at a certified E-cycler ensures your old laptop won’t end up in a landfill and cause environmental damage to your own community or any other community in the world.

7 – Having your electronics managed by a certified electronics recycler means that many your old computers’ working components will be reused. Reusing components greatly diminishes the time and energy required to turn out a single unit during the manufacturing process.

The incandescent light bulb pictured as a logo stands actually for my resistance, or unwillingness to change- like a damn light bulb, at the flick of a switch- I miss the warm, true light that once shocked the dick off of Thomas Edison and phriends, coming up with - what we take for granted, period- there's no discussion there... but take Bangladesh, for example..... Just Google that country and e-waste... Our toxicity problem is SO bad NOW- it's killing kids in 3rd world countries.... Oh, at least it's not hear though, right.. Hell, half of parents are afraid to vaccinate their children. These kids turn 15 colors a day, trying to chase .40 or .50 cents by tearing apart the Worst of the Worst crap from our refuse.... REFUSE- our REFUSING to address this problem that WE created and still benefit from to this day- what to do with that damn cigarette butt after we smoke our cigarette... The neighbors don't smoke and hate butts (cig butts, anyways) so we find the poorest neighbor, give them enough money to BUY a pack of cigs or two, and dump this crap all around their old cars and boats and bikes and think Mercury, palladium, lead, and terribly inert metals will just vanish.. They do- when they get burried- with the dead children of another country's population...........
