Something about this Friday has my mind fixated on booking a vacation, but the budget of said-vacation is still TBD.

When I was in the throes of starting and , there was no discretionary income for vacationing.

This is the unfortunate reality of many founders and staff in the nonprofit sector, so today I’m sharing ideas for how to embrace the “staycation.”

Even if travel is out of the question, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use your PTO days in 2023. Taking a full 7-14 days off from work is a great form of self-care.

By prioritizing our self-care we also prevent the near-enemies of social change—burnout, apathy, compassion-fatigue, overwhelm, and so much more.

GrantStation is a funding directory with a paywall, HOWEVER… Their newsletters always have ~10 grants that they share for free from a mix of private foundations and federal funding opportunities.

As well, they offer a lot of free educational workshops and articles related to fundraising, grant writing, and nonprofit finances.

This newsletter quickly became one that I started looking for in my inbox. 👀

While the types of grants shared vary drastically—even if I don’t find one my my nonprofit, I often find opportunities to share with my network. 💌
