Getting the word out about Cannabis Workforce Initiative workshops that Curry (me) & Miller (Chelsea) are facilitating at Seasoned Gives. First one is tomorrow, Thursday, 6/20, 6-8pm. We’ll be covering the seed as well as the law.

The mission of the New York State Cannabis Workforce Initiative (CWI) is to promote and support social equity in the adult-use cannabis market by providing quality workforce development and legal education. Our work prioritizes diversity, equity, and quality jobs in the emerging cannabis industry through skills training, entrepreneurism services, workforce supports, legal education for employees and employers, and the development of high-road career pathways. We draw our expertise from Cornell ILR and WDI.

Come join the fun at the third annual Caribbean Carnival this Saturday in Saugerties! This is a party not to be missed and thrown by one of our favorite nonprofits; Seasoned Gives! Seasoned Gives is dedicated to uplifting and empowering BIPOC and women entrepreneurs and is committed to holistically supporting the community - this is a great way to get out and show some support, eat some fabulous food and hear some incredible music while doing so!

Another Gala this week! Chelsea and I celebrated with Harambee, a mid-Hudson valley coalition that supports and promotes the strength of our community through cultural and educational events that enriches the lives of youth and adults and the home of the Pine Street African Burial Ground in Kingston, NY.

The room was filled with love! 🧡🧡🧡

Thank you to Tyrone Wilson, ED - Carl Brown, Board Chair - and Board Members: Martinique Dunkley, Tamika Dunkley, Frank Waters, Shalawn Brown, Christoper Lowery Warren, and Sharlene Bevier + others! We had a wonderful time!

Chelsea and I were thrilled to attend the Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison Gala this week. We were welcomed with open arms by Sean Pica, Executive Director Extraordinaire and Eldredge Blalock, Development Manager Extraordinaire. I saw a former student from the first semester SUNY Ulster partnered with HL and DOCCs, who has since been released. I have to say that was the best and most surreal hug of the night. Godspeed to all on your educational journeys. 🧡🧡🧡 such a beautiful program run by beautiful, soulful people.
