This week, A SAFE KNIGHT, Inc. is proud to be in Lexington, South Carolina, supporting ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) as we deliver Active Shooter / Critical Incident Response Instructor Development training.

We are honored to work alongside future ALERRT-certified instructors representing a diverse group of public safety professionals from:

D-DAY: WE REMEMBER

Today, A SAFE KNIGHT, Inc. pauses to honor the courageous young men who crossed the English Channel on June 6, 1944, and stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most significant military operations in history.

Many were barely out of high school. They left behind families, friends, and the comforts of home, knowing full well the dangers that awaited them. Yet they stepped forward without hesitation, driven by duty, courage, and a commitment to something greater than themselves.

We also remember the nation that stood behind them. The workers in factories, the farmers in the fields, the families enduring rationing, and the communities united in support of the war effort all played a vital role in securing victory. D-Day was not only the achievement of those who landed on the beaches—it was the accomplishment of an entire generation willing to sacrifice for freedom.

The lessons of D-Day remain relevant today: preparation matters, leadership matters, teamwork matters, and freedom is never free.

As professionals dedicated to protecting others and preparing for critical incidents, we recognize that the security and liberties we enjoy today were purchased at a tremendous cost by those who came before us.

On this anniversary, we remember their courage, honor their sacrifice, and commit ourselves to preserving the freedoms they fought to defend.

Today, we remember.

On this Memorial Day, A SAFE KNIGHT, Inc. honors the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to this nation. Their sacrifice secured freedoms many will never fully understand, and their legacy continues through the lives they protected.

For many, Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer. But before the gatherings, travel, and celebrations begin, take a moment to reflect on those who never made it home.

As a company founded by veterans and built on service, preparedness, and protection, we understand that freedom has always carried a cost.

Today we stand in gratitude for the fallen, in support of their families, and in remembrance of those who answered the call without hesitation.

Recent active shooter events across the country continue to reveal troubling and consistent trends that schools, churches, and organizations can no longer afford to ignore.

What we are seeing in 2026:

• Younger offenders, including juveniles
• Online radicalization and behavioral warning signs
• Multi-location and mobile attacks
• Increased targeting of religious institutions
• Delayed or ineffective lockdown communications
• Armed security personnel becoming the critical first line of defense
• Incidents escalating from “suspicious activity” to mass casualty events within minutes

The reality is this:

Violence moves faster than most organizations are prepared to respond.

Many attacks now evolve rapidly, involve movement between locations, and are often carried out by individuals who displayed warning behaviors beforehand—both online and in person.

Preparedness today must go beyond having a written plan sitting in a binder.

Organizations should be asking:
• Can staff communicate immediately under stress?
• Do employees understand lockdown procedures without hesitation?
• Are behavioral threat indicators recognized and reported?
• Is there a coordinated response plan for law enforcement, medical, and leadership teams?

This week A SAFE KNIGHT, INC is teaching an ALERRT Active Shooter Response course at Wake Technical Community College alongside officers and agents from Cary Police Department, Raleigh Police Department, Holly Springs Police Department, and the FBI.

Training continues through Friday and focuses on the realities of rapid response to active violence incidents. Officers are working through hands-on, scenario-based training designed to strengthen movement, communication, decision-making, team coordination, and response under stress.

One of the most valuable parts of this training is agencies working together. Building interoperability and relationships before a critical incident occurs improves the ability to respond effectively when seconds matter most.

Strong participation, professionalism, and commitment to protecting the community are evident throughout the course.

We appreciate Wake Technical Community College for hosting and every officer, agent, and instructor investing time into improving readiness and response capabilities.

Preparedness is built before the emergency begins.

Second Home Safety Sweep

Every morning (or right when you get home), take one quick minute to perform this simple 5-point safety sweep. Think of it as putting on your invisible armor before the day begins.

The 5-Point Sweep:
1. Doors & Windows – Walk past every exterior door and first-floor window. Confirm they’re locked and the deadbolts are engaged.

2. Garage & Entry – Make sure the garage door is fully closed and the interior door from garage to house is locked.

3. Lights & Chargers – Unplug any unnecessary phone/laptop chargers and appliances that aren’t in use (reduces fire risk and saves energy).

4. Emergency Exit Path – Glance at your main exit route. Is anything blocking the hallway or doorway? Move it now.

5. Phone Check – Open your phone, confirm location sharing is on for trusted contacts and your emergency contact is set in Medical ID (iOS) or Emergency Info (Android).

Why it works:
Most home incidents (fires, break-ins, medical emergencies) give you small warning signs. This 60-second habit catches them early and builds muscle memory so you stay calm if something ever does happen.

Pro Knight Tip:
Keep a small “Safety Knight Kit” by the door: flashlight, whistle, multi-tool, and a laminated card with emergency numbers. Grab it on your way out — you’ll feel ready for anything.

The recent shooting at a campground party near Arcadia Lake in Edmond, where more than a dozen people were injured during a large gathering, is another reminder of the unpredictable and rapidly evolving threats facing our communities today.

Incidents like this highlight the importance of preparedness, coordinated response, and proactive training for law enforcement, security personnel, schools, businesses, houses of worship, and event organizers. Large public gatherings can quickly become chaotic during a crisis, making communication, emergency planning, medical response, and coordinated action critical in saving lives.

This week in Fallon, Nevada, A SAFE KNIGHT, Inc. had the privilege of working alongside dedicated law enforcement and first responders during the ALERRT Exterior Response to Active Shooter Event training.

Critical incidents don’t wait for perfect conditions. They unfold fast, often outside the structure, in parking lots, athletic fields, courtyards, campuses, and open environments where communication, movement, coordination, and decisive action matter most.
