I don’t know who needs to hear this but God works things out when you do the work🛠 Two years ago I sat at my desk crying because I wanted to quit my job and start something of greatness.

This task was going to require me to be disciplined in my finances and clean up my credit. I started that journey by removing inaccurate information from my credit report. I pulled my student loans out of default, and raised my credit score up 136 points. The great thing is that I did it all while starting a credit repair business to help other folks do the same.

Did you know that credit card utilization make up 30% of your credit score on your profile. If you don't have a credit card or if you don't use your card you are missing out. You are limiting your score by 30% or up to 165 points. You should be using your credit card and building with your card not your debit cards. DEBIT CARDS DO NOTHING TO HELP YOU BUILD CREDIT OR INCREASE YOUR SCORE!!

Did someone mention bankruptcy?

Years ago I filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy to dismiss about 30k in old medical bills, credit cards, etc.. I felt overwhelmed by the debt and simply wanted OUT!!! At the time I heard that the stain of bankruptcy was going to follow me for 10 years, but did it really?

The truth of the matter is that a Chapter 7 bankruptcy can legally be reported for 10 years, however a chapter 13 can legally be reported for 7 years. The time clock starts from the date of filing and should fall off automatically.

Now in my case just like many others if the bureaus do not list the information about your bankruptcy correctly on your credit report you have the right to challenge it and possibly have it removed early. This has happened for many people.

Myth Busted 💥bam! Yes it can legally report for the allotted time unless you find something incorrect about the item listed.

Paying off you credit cards and closing out the account can lower you score. Why you might ask? It removes the history from the history bucket.

History or length of credit is worth 15 percent of your credit score. If you decide you have to many cards and you want to close some out close the newest cars not the oldest.

You have a Visa that you opened in January 2021 with no missed payments and $500 limit. You also have a Discover and MasterCard both with $3000 limits opened inJune of 2010. If you need to close one which should you close?

Yep, the Visa with the $500 limit.
