Saturday October 10th was a busy day for our department. We responded to several calls for trees down, medical calls and a structure fire with the first call coming out at around 1 A.M. At approximately 9:14 P.M. our department along with NEC, Fullers Crossroads, Honoraville fire departments, Luverne Rescue, Crenshaw County EMA and the CCSO were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 1500 block of Magnolia Drive by Crenshaw County E-911. Units arrived on scene to find a single story residential structure well involved in fire. Firefighters deployed hand lines and began operations. The fire was controlled shortly after arrival. Departments spent over four hours on scene extinguishing this fire using approximately 12,000 gallons of water in total. Sadly, there was one civilian fatality as a result of this fire. The scene was turned over to the Alabama State Fire Marshals office for investigation. There were no reports of injuries to fire personnel. We would like to thank our department as well as all the other agencies on this scene for a job well done after a long day.

🚑🔥 Congratulations, Blain Wilson! 🔥🚑

Highland Home Fire and Rescue would like to congratulate Blain Wilson on successfully obtaining his National Registry EMT certification and Alabama EMT license!

Blain volunteers his time with Highland Home Fire and Rescue, serving our community alongside our dedicated firefighters and first responders. His commitment to learning, training, and serving others is a tremendous asset to our department and the community we proudly serve.

Blain also works full-time with Haynes Ambulance, the ambulance service providing emergency and non-emergency ambulance services in our community. His experience with Haynes Ambulance, combined with his service as a volunteer firefighter, allows him to bring valuable EMS knowledge and skills to our department.

We are proud of Blain for reaching this milestone and for his commitment to serving the people of our community. We look forward to watching him continue to grow in his EMS and fire service career!

🇺🇸 Honoring Those Who Serve, Remembering Those We Lost 🇺🇸

Highland Home’s September 11 football game was more than just a night under the Friday night lights. It was an opportunity for our community to come together to remember and honor the victims of September 11, 2001, and to recognize the sacrifices of those who have served our community.

This year’s game also honored longtime firefighter and beloved announcer Charlie Porter, whose years of dedication to Highland Home Fire and Rescue and the surrounding community have left a lasting impact on so many.

From the first responder standing ready to answer the call, to the familiar voice behind the microphone, Charlie has been a valued part of our community.

As we remember September 11, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who responded, and those who continue to serve others every day.

🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE 🚨

We are aware of a report circulating on Facebook regarding a propane leak in the area of First Citizens Bank with the roadway being shut down. At this time, there is NO confirmed propane leak or related emergency and the roadway was never shut down. All units have cleared the area.
