πŸ“£ LOOKING TO PARTNER WITH A LOCAL CLEANING COMPANY
A Helper’s Heart Home Care is looking to connect with a trusted and reputable Indiana licensed, insured and bonded cleaning company serving Northwest Indiana.

We occasionally receive inquiries from seniors and their families who only need cleaning services and do not require home care. We would love to have a company we can confidently refer these families to.

Please understand that trust and reputation are extremely important. When we refer one of our seniors or families to another company, that referral is an extension of the trust they have placed in us. We will only refer to a company that we feel confident will provide reliable, professional and respectful service.

We are looking for a company that is:

πŸ’™ Indiana licensed, insured and bonded
πŸ’™ Established with a strong reputation
πŸ’™ Reliable and professional
πŸ’™ Comfortable working with seniors
πŸ’™ Serving Northwest Indiana

If your company meets these qualifications and is interested in becoming a trusted referral resource, please send us a message with your business information.

Town of Highland Informational Update:

Power Restoration Update – Highland Residents

We want to provide residents with the most current information we have regarding power restoration following the August 11th storm.

As of this morning, NIPSCO reports that approximately 36% of Highland customers have had their power restored.

We just spoke directly with a NIPSCO representative, who confirmed that they remain in emergency response mode. NIPSCO is working to assess the extensive damage across the area and is hopeful that more specific restoration estimates will be available sometime this evening. Unfortunately, we do not have exact restoration timelines for individual areas of Highland at this time.

Restoring power after an event of this magnitude is a process that has to happen in phases:

1. Clear hazards and make the lines accessible
Tree crews are working throughout the community to remove limbs, trees and other hazards from power lines so that electrical crews can safely begin repairs.

2. Restore the larger power system first
Lineman work from the larger electrical infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines and major distribution feeds, toward the smaller feeds that ultimately serve individual neighborhoods and homes.

3. Repair smaller feeds and individual areas
Once the larger feeds are restored, crews can work progressively farther downstream to smaller areas that may serve only a handful of homes. This is why some areas may see power return while nearby homes remain without service.

Please know that these smaller areas are not being forgotten. Crews will continue moving through the system and addressing those outages as quickly as the larger infrastructure allows.

This is a tremendous response effort. Hundreds of people, organized into more than 15 - 20 crews, have been brought in from outside the area to support restoration efforts.

The work currently underway includes:

β€’ Tree-trimming crews clearing power lines
β€’ Emergency utility crews locating and addressing damaged infrastructure
β€’ Crews replacing damaged utility poles
β€’ Construction crews installing new poles and infrastructure
β€’ Lineman repairing damaged electrical lines
β€’ NIPSCO crews re-energizing lines once repairs are completed
β€’ National Guard personnel assisting with debris removal in Brantwood
β€’ Crews repairing transmission lines in Munster that are an important part of feeding power into Highland

The system-wide goal NIPSCO has communicated remains 90% restoration across its entire service territory by Tuesday. This is not a Highland-specific restoration estimate, and NIPSCO has not yet provided us with a specific timeline for Highland.

What we can tell you is that crews are actively working throughout Highland right now. This remains an emergency response, and everyone involved is working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

We understand how difficult and frustrating this continues to be for our residents, especially those who have been without power since the storm. We will continue communicating what we know as soon as we receive verified information from NIPSCO.

Residents can check their individual outage status at http://nipsco.com/outages or by texting OUT to 444111.

Thank you for your continued patience as these crews work around the clock to restore our community.
