6-Year-Old ๐Ÿ–ค BLACK ๐Ÿ–ค 16.1h AQHA Appendix Mare

Working Hunter / Fence Prospect โ€“ Currently schooling 2โ€™3โ€“2โ€™6 courses and has jumped up to 2โ€™9 with plenty of room to continue moving up.

By Good Better Best (Good I Will Be) and out of proven producing TB mare Julia's Smile.

This striking 6-year-old mare has already earned points in Junior Hunter Under Saddle and is showing exceptional promise as an over-fences prospect. She has been started over cross rails and small verticals with an AA rider and has proven to be very willing with a natural desire for the job.

Originally purchased for an amateur rider who has since decided to go in a different direction.

With her size, pedigree, movement, and natural athleticism, she is an excellent candidate for someone looking to finish out a competitive hunter under saddle and over-fences horse.

๐Ÿ”บThe Showmanship Pivot๐Ÿ”ป

Itโ€™s one of the most anticipated Showmanship maneuvers to watch and often the most stressful to perform: the challenging pivot. The multi-tasking that is involved for exhibitors to execute this technical maneuver correctly can be overwhelming, and itโ€™s equally as demanding for the horses that show in this class.

Three Showmanship trainers -- Clint Ainsworth, Jenny Frid, and Shannon Watters-- share tips in a 2024 issue about how to fix pivot problems and how to keep the right foot groundedโ€“in practice and in the show ring.

Winning trail runs look fluid and effortless: the horse and rider seem in sync; obstacles are navigated with style and ease; and the quiet concentration of both horse and rider permeate the air. But those high scoring rides have a lot going on beneath their cool appearances: thoughtful strategy, precise riding of every stride, andโ€“perhaps surprisinglyโ€“lots and lots of math and counting.

Hear from Kelly McDowall of McDowall Quarter Horses Inc, Mike Weaver of Mike Weaver Performance Horses, and from the Tim Kimura: Man Of Trail about the roles counting and cadence play in this class: ๐Ÿ”ฝ

Home from after multiple slow downs from construction, but we made it!

Barb Langley and CBS Diamond Dun It were the last to compete for us this morning.

Barb and Teeter did a great job for their 2nd AQHA show ever and laid out a really nice RR pattern yesterday.

I am super proud of all my ladies and look forward to a great 2026 show season!
