Come Closer

I just got a glimpse of you,
and it squeezed the breath from my inhale.
I saw what you most chose to hide
when you turned away and lowered your eyes.

I just got a glimpse of you,
and my body became electric.
Your words fell like rain on clotted, parched soil
and held up the looking glass to my face.

I just got a glimpse of you,
and I now wonder if it’s too late.
Can I be the tallest poppy in the field?
Can I become the vision of my Future Self without disrupting others’ peace?

I just got a glimpse of you,
and now I know what I feared the most.
To be the entirety of me without risking the death of the tender selves of us

Is possible.

Fellow creatives, I have a hot take…We don’t need another productivity hack to solve our burnout problem.

We need access to the genius already within us.

In this episode of The Courage to Live a Big Life, I share how regaining access to our inner intelligence is far better than applying rules and boxes to our already closed-off lives. I also share dynamic journal prompts with you that will help you regain self-trust and expand your creative world from limited to limitless!

Freedom isn't earned through suffering. 🌿

The more I connect with myself… deeply, honestly, creatively… the more clearly my message comes through, my clients feel seen, and my work takes on a life of its own. That's what I explored on Episode 12 of The Growth Garden Podcast, and it might just reframe everything you thought you knew about what it takes to do meaningful work.

There's a kind of soul-depleting exhaustion that robs our courage and willingness to take bold action, rooted in keeping too many things in motion at once. The unfinished projects, the borrowed ambitions, the energy that leaks in every direction before it can be leveraged for building what’s in our mind's eye.

In this week's episode, I explore what happens when we finally stop hovering at the edge of our creativity and step fully into it. Not by adding more, but by staying with one thing long enough for roots to take hold.

If your energy and focus have been feeling fractured lately, this one's for you: https://tinyurl.com/3phb9ys8

Being a creative person is a beautiful thing. Our minds are lively, buzzing with fresh inspiration and new plans.

But this creates a painful paradox: when we try to create too much at once, we often end up creating nothing.

Every day delivers another idea. Energy leaks into dozens of directions at once. Drowning in options, we become paralyzed between possibilities.

This is the hidden cost of fractured attention. 🌸 A scattered mind cannot build momentum. It circles endlessly around potential without ever stepping deeply into mastery.

Great work often begins with a simple, courageous decision—to close all the open tabs, except one.

I used to think journaling was just... getting things out. A brain dump. A release valve. 📓

But something shifted when I started morning pages, and I realized it wasn't just about getting words out. It was about letting something in. A kind of openness I hadn't been giving myself permission to access.

That realization changed everything about how I create, how I connect with myself, and how I show up for my work and my life. I talked all about it with on Episode 42 of The Back Porch Bestie Podcast, and it's one of those conversations that feels like a deep exhale.

There's a childhood game I have been thinking about lately: Warmer, Colder.

You take a few blind steps. Someone tells you if you're getting closer or drifting away. You adjust. You pay attention. I think that's actually how we build creative lives. Not with a perfect ten-year plan. Not with certainty. With contrast.

This episode of The Courage to Live a Big Life is about learning to read the signals your life has already been sending you, the ones we've been trained to override, argue with, or numb out. There's a journaling prompt I share in this episode that's deceptively simple. It's the one I come back to when I feel flatlined or stuck, and it has a way of quietly cracking things open.

Give this one a listen. And then go somewhere quiet and pay attention to what feels warmer.

We often treat discomfort like a stop sign. A sign we are failing or should retreat to where things are familiar.

But discomfort is data.

Some discomfort is the sensation of growth, stretching our identity wider than it has ever gone before.

If you have been feeling a restless stirring inside, the wild part of you is simply trying to get your attention.

In my latest article, I’m sharing how to stop waiting for absolute certainty and start finding clear direction.

I am also incredibly excited to share a beautiful invitation at the end of the post to join me in the South of France this September for the Wild Beasts Retreat.

Most of the jobs that exist ten years from now... don't exist yet. 🤯

That's not a scary thought; it's actually the most liberating one I know. Because it means the future doesn't belong to the people with the most credentials or the most polished plan. It belongs to the people who know how to adapt, make confident decisions in the face of uncertainty, and reinvent themselves with intention and courage.

That's exactly what I explored with on Episode 138, and I think this conversation is going to land differently depending on where you are in your journey. Give it a listen and tell me what you think.
