Bed Mother’s Day gift! I have been here many times but today with the snow and the sun shining through made it extra pretty. That’s what I love about photography you can visit a place many times and it never truly looks the same! Gotta appreciate pretty light when you get it!

One of my entries for the Fur Rhondy photo contest. I named it Moody Fireweed Summer. It was taken at Lowell Point in Seward, Alaska where you get more rainy days then sunny but I love it all the same. It’s a small place beyond the town where the ocean meets the mountains and the Fireweed grow abundantly along the shoreline. It’s one of my favorite places to stay while in Seward! I was so nervous to enter but had to remind myself even if I don’t win it’s good to get out of your comfort zone and put yourself out there every once in a while. I might sell this print in the future let me know if you are interested!

A color photo that looks black and white. I was telling my friend I don’t go out as much on gloomy days but she said to embrace them. So I am trying to do that despite myself always wanting color. Truth be told there are a lot of gloomy winter days in AK but trying to soak them up since it’s our last winter here!

On the Seward Highway!

Can you believe this is on a military base? Prettiest one around in my opinion. We had the opportunity to go dog sledding and then walked out on the frozen lake to get a better composition. If you know me well you know I’ll do just about anything to get a better composition including freezing while doing it! My hands were frozen from taking them out of my gloves to take this picture and burned when they got warm in the car for about 10 minutes afterwards. But I think it was worth it. The small clouds caught the sunset that was happening in the opposite direction. It was a beautiful night!
