Monday, January 26: Our office will be closed today. Sunshine yesterday actually made things more dangerous. We cannot ensure safety of employees getting to the office, or that of customers attempting to access our filling areas.

We will be open tomorrow, Tuesday the 27th, once the roadways are safe for passage, and we have cleared all walkways. Temps are supposed to be above freezing around 10:00AM, but it will still take some time beyond that. We plan to stay open as long as possible for cylinder filling. We have additional help coming in to assist so that we can get you in and out quickly and safely as possible.

It’s 6:00 PM, Sunday, January 25, and our operating hours for Monday are currently unknown.

We know all schools, cities and county offices are closed, as roads are not very safe. I spent about an hour today breaking and shoveling ice, just to get our front gates to open. The lot is a solid sheet of sleet/ice. Some traction, but still slick.

Will do an assessment in the morning as to if/when we will open tomorrow. Any updates are best found here.

And yes, we have plenty of propane. It is just a matter of ensuring everyone’s safety.

Just a friendly PSA. If you see guys out in trucks that look like this…give them a break PLEASE!! They have been working their asses off all week, skipping meals, missing sleep, but they are still out doing all they can to keep up with orders. And no, they probably aren’t in a great mood!

So, if you see them on the road, don’t ride them, give them plenty of room. Even if they are driving down the middle of a hump backed road, or in the “bottom” lane of a banked turn, because there is a reason as to why.

Also, keep in mind they will be playing catchup for weeks, so don’t wait until you are on the bottom to call and order. Don’t expect same or next-day delivery. Plan ahead, it makes EVERYONES life better!!

Update 2/24/2022 - 1:00PM

Trucks are running and will be making deliveries as long as it is safe to do so. We will continue to be at the office filling bottles until 5:00 today.

Looks like things will freeze back up overnight, so we will just continue to monitor things as they progress. Might be a slight delay in opening Friday but we will do our best to keep everyone updated.

Thursday - 2/24/22 - 7:45AM

As Yogi Berra once said “it’s like déjà vu all over again!”

Roads are SLICK out there. Pretty much solid sheets of ice on all the various FM and State Highways checked this morning, as moisture continues to fall sporadically. As a result we will have all delivery trucks parked until conditions improve. Hopefully forecasts are accurate and it warms above freezing midday, which would allow us to get back out and stay caught up. We will keep you updated here as things progress.

Update - 2/4/22 - 2:00 - We are back in action! Trucks are running and filling bottles at the office. We are limited on staff answering phone so if calling in please be patient!

We will also be open tomorrow to fill bottles from 10:00 AM until at least 2:00 PM.

Thank you all for being prepared, as well as being patient during these icy adventures.

We didn’t make it to 100 years old without our awesome customers!!
