St Mark’s Basilica, where the relics of the apostle Mark lies, stolen by the Venetians from Alexandria in Eygpt, snuck under the guise of a shipment of pork. The basilica was decorated with more than 8000 square meters of gold and colorful mosaics, depicting the stories of from the Bible.

So grateful for our trip to Venice, the floating city was built on more than 100 islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic sea. It has no roads, just canals.
