Well if people can get $60 for one wood log, which seems like a joke, then I should be able to get $200 - 1000 for engines. I know this is sorta comparing apples to oranges but I can get oak logs free so why would I pay $60? I don’t see anyone laughing at that post. You can’t really get engines free unless a buddy just wants it gone.

Salvages now charge $500 for a fully dressed long block with cores and all, if you take the core back you might get $75 back for your used engine so that makes the total purchase price $425 I believe, not the greatest in math but makes sense to me.

Now add in about say 6 hours of my labor pulling off a front clip (hood, fenders, grille & radiator support) and remove an engine at say minimum shop rates of 100/hr well that’s $600 of labor added to an engine that has a value of $600 already just in an injection pump so add the two together I don’t think I am hurting anyone asking $1000 because technically to cover my costs the price should be $1200 or I work for free for 2 hours. Would you like to work for free today? I didn’t think so.

I could really get into price per horsepower or price per pound but I am sure not many would care nor understand. There are a lot of people doing this so not like I am giving away a business model or idea but just thought I would mention do your research before you decide to laugh or mouth off. Anyone else agree?

Looking for an old truck 73, VIN starts with TCY ends in 0329, is a GMC not Chevy, last seen in Vera, Oklahoma, may have recently been crushed, IDK, last seen on the road ‘03 - ‘04, tag was SAR 379. Two black fenders and misted black hood, just wondering what happened to it, if anyone thinks they may have the truck I will trade you a good 93 Silverado project truck but only trading for that specific truck.
